My daugher turned 5 years old. She'll fall alseep in my bed, but then I'll pick her up and put her in her own bed. Sometimes, she'll sleep through the night. On the times she does not sleep through the night is when she wakes up to use the bathroom and then afterwards sleeps in my bed as opposed going back to her bed. Any suggestions? I'm a single mom by the way.

I have an extremely intelligent and developed 16month old and he's been going through an attitude stage for the past 4 months....Anyways, we were at a restaurant and he decided to fling his food across the table into Daddy's face.....at first we were really having a hard time holding back a laugh, so I grabbed his spoon away and firmly told him NO! While I was doing so he decided to roll his eyes and hit me. When I tod him hitting was not allowed he started to whine very loudly so I took him out side for him to calm down. After doing so, i brought him back inside and he decided to throw a fit because he didn't want to sit in the highchair and began to hit me again. I grabbed his little hand and smacked it, he gave me a pitiful face but he stopped...A woman 2 tables down looked at me in deep scorn as if i beat him......What can I do in public to discipline my child? He is rarely a prob a home, why in public? what can I do so I'm not viewed as abusive?

my daughters babysitter...?
Today, on the way to lunch, my hubby drove by the sitters home and our 1 yr old had followed the other kids onto the porch. Mind you that this porch is several feet high. About a little over waist high. She was standing on the edge holding onto a pole. The sitters kids were also outside with no adult? Her & her hubby was both there. She said she was on the potty & he was doing dishes. Now, I don't understand how this happened? She happens to live on a major highway also. So, my hubby glances up, sees her, turns around and comes back, gets our daughter & knocks & screams at the door for the sitter 4 or 5 times. Finally her hubby comes to the door and is like ..."Whats going on" . So, needless to say..I don't know what to do?? I know what I should do, but she is my friend and her hubby is our associate pastor and I kinda feel wrong in doing it....any suggestions? BTW, my hubby thinks she is not taken care of while she is there...she has came home dirty more than once...

Just for laughs.

Yesterday my nephew and I were at home and he came running out of the shower with only his underwear on. It was the funniest thing. I told him to go put his shorts on and when he was walking back his underwear was sagging a bit so I grabbed them from behind and pulled them up. It was the cutest thing, he actually thought it was funny.

Do any of you have similar stories or little games you play around w/the young ones?

The past week (not everytime) throughout the day, my son (26 months) will tell me "potty" so i will put him on and he always goes poop AND pee!!! I was going to wait until after the baby comes (c section tuesday) because I didnt want to get him on a schedule that wouldnt stay but I cant deny him the potty. Should I just go with the flow and take him whrn HE asks or should I put him up there even if he doesnt ask at regular times? I have heard that having a baby makes them go back but he is very aware of the baby and he likes doing everything like a big boy. He is basically potty training himself so it is HIS choice. He is VERY independent. Need some advice!

My son cries when I put him on the potty. I've tried stickers, candy, cherios and toys. He just won't even sit. Is it too soon for him? Are there any other methods I could try?
Thanks!

The setting is this: Me and my wife live in Italy, she's Italian and I speak Spanish and English. Since the baby is going to grow in Italy, he will speak Italian. However, I would like to teach the baby Spanish and English. Should I talk to him mixing Spanish and English or would that be too much for him to handle? Should I just choose either Spanish or English?

Do you watch TV, clean up toys/washes dishes, get online, prepare a casserole for the next night's dinner so you don't have to cook after work, go to sleep yourself, or something else? I'm just curious as to what others do. :)

My nephew will turn 4yrs old in December. He is extremely smart yet very stubborn. He goes to daycare/pre-school for a few hours in the morning but it is hard to get him to get out of the house. He will always end up crying because he is watching TV beforehand. When we say, let's go to school, the show is going to end soon, he will screaming saying that the show is not ending yet. He would start throwing tantrum by throwing remote around and started crying.
I suggested that he doesn't watch TV but he needs TV to eat breakfast. How can we deal with his stubborness? Thank you

I pay Daycare $210.00 a week for my two boys to go full time. Yesterday they call me to leave work and come and get my 15 Mo. telling me he had pink eye. I call the doctor who won't see him and won't prescribe anything because they say it is just the common cold virus. This makes sense to me because he has a runny nose and cough just like every other kid in his class. The doctor says just put some Johnsons soap on a cotton swab with warm water and clean the eye.( which his eyes aren't even pink they just have crusties when he wakes from his nap) The child has No fever and no other symptoms he's fine. The Daycare also says he can't come back for 24 hrs. I HAVE TO WORK to pay the insane child care costs. Which I have to pay whether he's there or not. It seems to me they can't wait to send our kids home so it's one less for them to deal with, who are they? They aren't doctors. I am so pissed The sick season hasn't even really started yet, I can only imagine what is in store for me.

Just wanted to have some other opinions. My son is 3 years old and in preschool, he's been having trouble keeping his attention and following rules in school, and last night he didn't sleep good at all, he woke up several times. If I send him to school I have to wake him up in a few hours, most likely he's going to be tired and grouchy and if he goes to school he's probably not going to have a good day, so do you think I should keep him home today?

I know some say buy panties that my daughter would like to try to potty train her, but she's not into Dora, or pony. They don't make cars or trains in girls underpants. My question is, is there a difference between the boys and the girls underpants besides their designs. And would it be ok to let her wear them.
