My 14 month old son is getting his molars too! One is nearly completely through, and the other three are juuuuuust below the skin. I wish they'd hurry up and come in already so I could have my sweet baby back!!

I found that infant Tylenol works wonders. I give it to him about 20 minutes before bed, and only on the days where he's REALLY cranky. Otherwise, I use Hyland's Teething Tablets. Those are great (truly!) but I don't think they work as well as the Tylenol.

You probably don't need a prescription. At 14 months, tylenol and motrin are both okay for him. You can also use orajel or teething tablets with them. The best thing to give him is something cold he can chew on, like a teething ring, a refrigerated spoon or a wet wash cloth that has been in the freezer for a few minutes.

If you have tried all of that and nothing is helping, then see the doctor.

I don't think they would, but you have options as a mom! Tylenol, Motrin, there are teething tablets that dissolve to lessen pain. Teething rings, bitter biscuits, GO EXPLORE YOUR OPTIONS and what works for your child. Oh and baby anbasol.

I have a 7 month old who was cutting 8 teeth at 1 time! I used Tylenol & motrin alternating when he was in alot of pain, i even used the teething tablets. But he loved the ice cold or frozen teething rings they helped so much! He is now just trying to get 4 in.... so GOOD LUCK

Drs wont prescribe anything. I give my babies Infant or Childrens Motrin (it lasts longer that Tylenol, my Dr told me this) and Hylands teething tablets. Ive tried both orajel and teething tablets and the teething tablets taste SO much better and work alot better.

He will tell you to use Tylenol or Baby Ibuprophen. Let him chew on something hard and cold. Put a wet washrag in the freezer for a little while, he will suck and chew on it. Also, try melba toast, It will break the top layer of skin and the tooth will come in faster.

I use a homeopathic liquid i pick up from the pharmacy, its made by Boiron products and the one for teething is called Camilla... its exellent.... and with non alchol ingredients and no medication, prefer that to tylenol... then again if its really bad and camilla doesnt work, i give 1 ml of tylenol...

The only thing they will tell you is to give him Tylenol or Motrin and you can also use Orajel or Hyland's Teething tablets...all available at Wal-Mart. Poor little guy, that does hurt!

I doubt it, try anbesol, or orajel. Also teethers you put in the freezer, cold wash cloths. My grandmother used to use whiskey on the gums, as an anesthetic, it works quite well and isn't harmful.
