My son was born with hernia - 2 of them, one umblical hernia and also inguinal hernia. He was operated upon when he was 2 months old for the latter. I was really tense but all was fine. If the anesthesia is fine then the surgery itself will be just about 45 min.
It is usually because of weak muscles, nothing to worry. The inscision will be in the crese between the stomach and groin and the mark will not even be visible.
God Bless. All will be fine.

My daughter at around 1 1/2 had the same thing (bulge above her belly button) She is now 2 1/2 and it's still there. Her MD stated that I should not be concerned and would not operate, unless in the future for cosmetic reasons.

Better to operate. It may lead to complications if left unattended.Better to do an uncomplicated ellective or planned surgery than one as an emergency. If it is acongenital hernia it is not going to go off by itself. If you are very worried you get asecond opinion to confirm the diagnosis.
It is NOT due to vitamin deficiency.
She may have to stay 3-5 days after surgery.
It is usualy uncomplicated in children. So don't worry. All the best

my mum got operated 3 days ago, a strangled hernia. your girl will be fine. she needs to do this operation, because if left for to long, it will cause an enormous amount of pain. so my advice will be to do the operation ASAP. she will be fine. my mum was already standing up yesterday to talk to me on the phone. she will recover soon, and she will be happier minus the pain!
all the best to you and your daughter. xx
it might take a month in all to recover, and be as good as new!

It's a simple surgery... Nothing to worry..... I had the same problem, when i was in my 30.... It was 3 years back.... After operation you should allow your kid for a complete bed rest for 20 days.... And after that you have to give restrictions to take heavy wights.

My little neice just had one done a few weeks ago,she will be 4 in 2 months. She did great and was up and around in no time.Kids usually heal pretty quick, especially when they want to play.Of course all cases are different, but i'm sure it will be ok.My thoughts and prayers are with you.

If the doctors say she needs it then do it.
Vitamins have nothing to do with the problem.
It is physical condition that can be fixed.

My son had that op when he was two. Doesn't remember it and it's safer than not having it done!
