Please help me! My son wrote on the walls in our small apartment. We don't own the place. I'm not sure if I should buy paint and just paint over it or if there is actually something that can just wipe the pen ink and pencil mark off. Soap and water does not work! I've tried it. I even tried erasing the pencil marks with an eraser and that doesn't work. I even tried cleaning it with clorine and that didn't work. What will work?! Please help!

My 16month old has this, caught it from my daughter who got it from preschool I think, but he won't eat anything. He'll drink a bottle of milk though but will he be ok just drinking milk for the next 5 days while he's getting over the virus? What should I do? My daughter will eat because she's older and understands more that she needs to eat, and she doesn't have it nearly as bad as her brother. What should i do?

I'm a father of a 1yr old boy and a 3yr old girl. Where should I take them to the bathroom if no family restroom is available. The girl is potty trained I need to take her to a toilet. Men's or Women's?

Many times, public men's rooms don't have changing tables so I end up changing the boy in the trunk of my car. If I'm with my wife, she's stuck taking the girl to the bathroom and changing the boy. Good for me, bad for the wife (which makes it bad for me )

My 3 year old has told me repeatedly that when he was here before, I was a man and a police officer. He has told me about the angel that stands in the doorway and tells him goodnight. He even pointed out the old home of a friend of my mother's. She moved from that house 8 years ago and that was his first time in the neighborhood. There aren't even any pictures that he could have referenced. I believe he has been here before.

Has your child "been here" before?

OK, I'm bored once again at work, so I'd like to hear about the silly or weird routines you have with your child -- the one who puts the biggest smile on my face gets 10 points. I'll start with one of my own...

Lots of kids have security blankets, but in our house "Blankie" has almost become an imaginary friend of sorts. My son and I pretend that Blankie talks to us, and we often translate other subjects into Blankie-terms (e.g.; we'd been talking about the Tooth Fairy recently, and when the manufacturer's tag fell off Blankie, my son said that "Blankie lost his 'baby tag'", and that the Tag Fairy would soon bring him his "grown-up tag"). If I think my son needs some quiet time, I'll loudly announce, "Blankie and I are going to read a story!" and he (my son) will usually curl up on the couch with Blankie and me. We've also learned from my son that Blankie's favorite foods are cotton balls and string (sorta like spaghetti and meatballs).

Your turn -- what you got?

My twin girls seem ready to potty train. I have provided them both w/ their own potty chair, but they always want the other's one. I tried taking them to the potty every hour, but they would get off because one had an accident or wanted to go earlier. Any suggestions? Thanks

I am a 25 yr old mother of one 15 month old son. Married to his father for 3 yrs with him for 9 yrs. Work 3 days per week. Own a home 2 cars 4 wheeler, baby has TONS of toys etc... no drinking or drugs, I do not go out but maybe once every 6 months, nothing unusual happens in our home. We are the commercial for boring stable american working family. We know a few "unstable" families divorced, bar hoppers, dating frequently, drink smoke, late nights, fighting, broke, drop kids everywhere they can to get out to the bar 5-6 nights per week etc.. everything you can think of as unstable. Our child is soooo cranky and their children are so laid back. Go with the flow, barely ever cry, fall asleep on their own, eat anything. My kid is like the kid you dont want to watch because he gets rocked to sleep, picky eater, cries when he even fall on his butt, If I do it all by the book and others just neglect their kid day after day why is my kid always upset and theirs seems so happy with life?

I've been told to pinch his nose and force it in but I'll save that for a very last resort.

okay, i had an unexpected situtation arrise that i would like to go out of town for--my widowed mother is getting married, in vegas, last minute. obviously i'd like to go. the problem i have is who to leave my kids 2.5 years, and 4 months with. the only person i know who doesn't work, and can watch them is my sister-in-law, who has a 2.25 year old. unfortunately, this little girl swears, really, really, really badly, intentionally--vulgar insults at that. probably every 5 mins or so. my kid does not swear, i have no doubt that before our plane would even touch ground in vegas, his vocab would be twice as colorful compared to when we left.

the only other thing i can think to do is ask a few other family members, but they would have to take off time at work cuz it's during the week (tues-thurs) and i'd feel really bad, esp on such short notice.

what should i do? leave him with my s-i-l? or suck it up and ask around even if it means someone missing work? what would YOU do?

My daugter is 21 mos old. i know she's still young. i'm not potty training her. I just take off her diaper. it's okay for me if she has accidents. i just wan to try not putting diaper on her. i never mind cleaning if she wets herself. however, my daughter minds. she doesn't want to pee on her pants. she says she wants to pee and she's kinda holding her urine. she cries.
once, i put diaper on her, minutes later, she passed a lot of urine. she doesn't want to pee anywhere but on her diaper. i think she feels comfortable with her diaper on.
She knows how to say if she wants to pee now.
okay, i don't mean to potty train her or expect she can say and just pee. I just want to know why. i heard a lot about children who don't know if they are going to pee and they wet themselves, but never heard of one like my daughter, who only wants to pee on her diaper. i've tried to put underwear on her, she never pees for hours

Does anyone have a child that went through this? He just walks up to people and will scratch them with his fingers. I don't know how to get him to stop. Any solutions?
