My twin girls seem ready to potty train. I have provided them both w/ their own potty chair, but they always want the other's one. I tried taking them to the potty every hour, but they would get off because one had an accident or wanted to go earlier. Any suggestions? Thanks

Believe it or not, I think you have it a bit easier because you have two that can help influence each other. Get a step stool for the adult toilet. Children like to use things that are real. Put them in clothing that they can easily get on and off without help including "big girl panties". Every couple of hours or so, get super animated and say "Guess what time it is! It's potty time!" Do a little dance. Put one on the toilet. Have the other help encourage her. Once she goes do the same with the other. I know this may sound a little weird but I used to do this with toddler in my first few years of teaching. I could get them all trained in about a week.

When you see that one of them is doing the "potty dance" say "It looks like you need to use the bathroom." Give it no more attention than that. If you insist, she will resist. If one of your girls soils herself hold her responsible for the clean up. They can remove the soiled clothing, rinse them out, put them in the laundry, clean themselves, and put on dry clothing. They will soon learn that it is much easier to use the toilet. Hope this helps! Good luck!

i have twin girls also, 3 1/2 now, i potty trained them at 2, this may sound strange but i firmly believe in the the naked baby routine, i swear nothing at all worked for me until i let them run around naked ( i had to stay at home for an entire week but it was worth it) after 3 days they were using they potty with no accidents at all after 1 week we were day and night potty trained. That was after 6 months of pull ups and potty chairs and rewards and praise and everything else that DID NOT WORK. And when they started using the potty like big girls they got to go to the store and pick out their own big girl underwear.

I have twin girls also. They are 11 now tho. But when I was training them, when I took one to the potty, I took the other one when I was finished with the first one. I only bought one potty chair, but they never used it. I used the one you put on the adult toilet. That worked better for me. And I just took them together. When one was done, then I put the other on. Good luck!!
