Ok...My daughter is 16 mo old and she still will not sleep through the night. She wants to sleep with us, if she does she will sleep all the way through. Why is she waking up in the middle of the night for no reason and it is the same time. (3am)??

I have a 5 year old. Every time I give him an answer, he says "Why?".

This happens 24x7. So much so that I don't think it's normal. I'm almost under the impression he does it to simply make noise.

I've tried responding with...

"Why not."
"That's the way it is."
and the ever elusive...
"Why do you think?"

What are good ways to get the child to stop asking Why? Or at least ask less?

My son has croup (which is some form of a cold from my understanding from the doctor). He is almost 3. My familiy has scheduled a parade for us to be at. I live in Ohio where it is 57 degrees outside. The parade is tonight. My instincts tell me no but when I called his doctor she said that he would be fine outside for a couple of hours and if started to get worst to take him home. I just don't know what to do.

I have been posting question after question regarding my 15 month old sons heart murmur. We went to Akron Childrens yesterday and got a second opinion and the Atrial Septal Defect has closed on its own and also he has VERY mild aortic stenosis which the Doc said he wouldnt even note and mild aortic insufficiency. He said he will be allowed to play sports, doesnt need antibiotics for every cut he gets and he most likely wont need a surgery until well into adulthood!!!!! I feel like a new person. I am so happy for my son and thank god every minute for giving us a miracle!!

Yesterday my 13 month old started vomiting. (he was home with his daddy I was at work but went straight home when i heard he was sick) When I got there. He was vomiting green foam and gagging and very pail. He had no fever and had a normal bowl movement. I knew this wasn't a stomach virus. My baby is also asthmatic. So i packed him up to go the the doctor. He turned blue and stopped breathing on the way there so I just went to the ER. He came to vomitted again and then he was fine. So I felt like he must have swallowed something and it was caught in his throat. The x-ray showed nothing. His lungs were clear. And he was wetting daipers. We went home and today he's fine. Does everybody else think he just swallowed something?

The playground is right out of the playschool exit.
The parking lot is far from the entrance, so I can't take one to the car and then go for the other one.
We are not planning to move them to another school.
The playschool is for them to learn to socialize and share, so taking them out is not an option.
Yes, I have tried to make them understand we will go back the day after, but doesn't work!

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I was just reading an closed question about something similar and thought I'd like to see if anyone has any more?!
My son, who is now 14 yrs old...learned our phone number when he was about 3-4 yrs old. Being a single mom, I didn't date much...as we walked through the grocery store one night...he started screaming out our phone number...I got 8 calls that weekend...

My son, who is 2.5 yrs old doesn't know how to blame others yet...for things he does...He knocked over my glass of iced coffee the other morning and came running in..and said..." Look what Joe-Joe did mommy!!! Spank him bum...(I laughed so hard tears filled my eyes...cause he then bent over...and I don't spank for that kind of thing) BEFORE ANYONE RESPONDS TO THAT..YOU DO YOUR THING...I'LL DO MINE..it's called discipline NOT child abuse!!!

My daughter is 18 months old, and for the past week has been spitting up once a day. It isnt much, but it still concerns me. She doesnt seem sick in any way. Should i worry about this, or is she still young enough that its nothing major to worry over?

...Is like dealing with a very small drunk person? Putting them to bed when they are acting out because they are so tired, kind of like taking care of somebody that is so drunk, they don't even know where they are?

Had this experience last night, just wondering.

My daughter is otherwise an intelligent child but to grab attention she would do anything. She has become more demanding now and beats her friends of same age if they don't listen to her, what she says. The frustration some times gets to anger. It causes embarrassment to us as she exhibits her anger on poor friend of hers who is so submissive and well behaved girl. Pls suggest how to get her little less aggressive. Also she doesn't listen to what we say most of the times now, doing only that which is not preferred by us.
Both my daughter and her friend go to preschool everyday together and my daughter wants her friend to do as she wants.

My son who is almost 3 is enrolled in a pre-school. However it breaks my heart every time I drop him off cause he screams and cries. The teachers assure me that it stops 2 minutes after I leave. I feel so bad. When I go to pick him up he tells me all the fun he has had but I hate leaving him crying like that. What should I do? Should I pull him out of it? Or do you have any suggestions for making this easier on him? He really needs to get used to being away from me so he is ready for school in a couple years so I thought this would be good for him. How long should I wait it out before I decide he just isn't ready?

My 2.5 yr old has chicken pox. Even though I am doing my best to relieve him from scratching the pimples - I am concerned that he does it in his sleep. Anything tried & tested I can use to help reduce the scars after he is healed?

My friend has an 18 month old boy. everytime she sits him down to feed him he simply screams until she walks away. He's always trying to climb out of his chair so she straps him in. she's very worried he's not getting enough food and has to suplimant it with milk. He'll eat finger food (tomatoes, cheese, biscuits etc) but refuses point blank to eat any of the meals she prepares. Now I must admit she still sort of processess meals for him so he might be fed up with that. Any ideas?
