I don't know how to prevent them but I know I do have a scars from when I had the at 12. The scars are very small and unnoticable so, unless they are on the face I wouldn't worry too much about them.

Dont worry about it! I had Chicken pox when I was 20! Horrible blisters in the face! But the scars have gone away naturally, just regular bathing and a good scrubbing, moisturizing thats all. When the dead skin is shed, the marks are replaced by new skin, which is unblemished. This natural ability would be very pronounced in a 2 year old.
I often took cold showers when the blisters were comming out, twice a day, with ivory soap or something "soft", it does provide relief to the discomfort.

My little one was covered in them and I thought the same thing too, but there was no scarring. I know it looks so bad but it does clear up nicely. He had one under his eye that was the worst of them all and today it is the slightest little scar that only I see because I knew how bad that one was. I wouldn't worry about it, just keep him distracted and busy during the day - run him tired at the park - and he will be so exhausted at night he will just fall asleep with no time to scratch.

If you can try to put little mittens on his hands when he's asleep that might help with the scratching. He'll be able to rub them but it won't be as bad as if he opened them up with hi nails. Good Luck. Calamine lotion works really well to soothe the itching and oatmeal bath before bed might help too.

Use vitamin E after the spot heals. That or cocoa butter. It moisturizes the area and helps for scarring.

Cover him in calamine lotion. It may not smell the best and he will look ridiculous, but the itching will be reduced dramatically.

Nope, unless you want to resort to plastic surgery. What are you using to minimize the itch?
