I've been cleaning my kids ears out since they were babies, which is why I think they don't freak out as they are older. They are used to it. YOu are the parent, you are doing what is best for her by cleaning them out (with a cutip? I presume). Short term discomfort vs. what needs to be done, is a huge no brainer. YOu have to do that for her, and get it done. Hold her down, tell her it's almost over, be quick about it; and do it regularly. Good luck.

You need to get a bottle of ear drops from the pharmacist first. Put a few drops of ear drops into your daughter's ears for 3 to 5 days. The ear drops are meant to soften the ear wax for easier removal. But you shouldn't remove your daughter's ear wax on your own. The doctor has an equipment to suck out the ear wax. But before you bring her to the doctor, your daughter's ear wax must be soft enough before removal.

If she has lots of earwax, it should be cleaned out by a doctor. If you use cotton buds to clean her ears, it can push the wax to the back of the ear canal and cause compacted wax which can lead to hearing loss.

since it's full of ear wax..it's a really really bad idea to use cotton buds to clean it..it will just push it near to her eardrum and might get deaf....if you can put a drop of liquid thru her ear..use otosol...it "liquidizes" the wax and it will unconsciously get out of her ear

Try cleaning them while she is sleeping if you can. Otherwise bring her in to the doctor. You can also show her that it dosen't hurt or anything by letting her watch u do it to yourself. Good luck

I don't blame her. Let the doctor do it. If she fits about this, tell her if she doesn't get it done, Her ears will grow until she looks like Dumbo the elephant. That ought to do it.

You could always take her to the doctor and let him do it. Not necessarily easier but most kids will at least let the doctor do it.

Take her to the doc. When i was a kid, they used to flush my ears out...don't know whether they do it anymore.
