My daughter is 21 mos old. I didn't intent to potty train her yet, but lately she knows how to say she wants to pee. So, I just leave her diaper off. I just let her wear her underwear. she had accidents and she cried about it. now, she says she wants to pee, but she doesn't want to use potty, so I bring her to the toilet, (I’ve bought a kid's toilet seat, the one to be place on our toilet seat), I put her there, she still doesn't pee at all. I’ve tried everything, play, sing and even read for her. she just doesn't want to pee or poo. she keeps saying she wants to pee. She put on underwear, but still doesn't want to pee. I know she wants the diaper!. she's waiting for me to put her on diaper so that she can pee. I did that before, but now I tried not to give her. she didn't pass urine for 2 hours until she had accident. she doesn't want to have any accidents and use potty either. she just want the diapers. Does she really need to pee or she just playing?

He just realized that he can get out of his crib by himself. This is the second night of this. It took 2 hours last night, and one hour and 38 "get back in beds!" tonight. And now it's 12:44 am, and he's up again. Any ideas? Thanks!

My daughter (will be 3 next month) urinates in the potty on her own, but has never gone poop in the toilet. I try to encourage, but so far - nothing. She used to have erratic bowel movements, but now she regularly has them at nap time, or over night - these are the only times she's in pull-ups. I think she'd now holding them in because she doesn't want to go in her panties, but doesn't want to go in the potty either. How can I help her see it will be okay, if she won't try?

Earlier today I asked at what age we stop jumping?
I gave refrences of my grandchildren and their friends who are the ages from 2 through 8 and they jump all the time. The answers I got were about giving them too much sugar and kids jump........

What the actual question was, was a metaphor.

What I actually wanted to know is, at what age do the little things in life become unimportant?
I know as we get older we take on more resposibility and we grow more weary as the days go on, but why don't we jump when we can? Why do we always have to have an umbrella when there is the slightest hint of rain? When is the last time you splashed in a puddle? I can you I did today and I laughed and yes it was raining and I didn't have an umbrella.

I think we should just do as the children do and we would all have a little more fun every day. Look at the world through their eyes and see a different place.

Who's with me on this?

I took her to the hospital this morning, she hadn't peed in 40 hrs. All the blood tests came back neg., Kidneys and liver are fine. She wasn't dehyrdated, no sign of any kind of infection at all. After 6+ hrs of I. V. drip ( 550ml) and 6 bottles she peed a little bit. Then the doctors just like "Okay, go home, she peed". It doesn't add up. What could have made her not pee for 2 days? (she also lost 2.5 lbs since thurseday, and has had a good appetite.)

I just met someone who lives near me with a toddler my sons age. Its been a while since I have had a friend because I am a stay at home mom. It was a guy who was with his daughter and he then introduced me to his wife. They live really close by but I am nervous because I don't know what to say and I don't know if she would want to be friends with me. I don't have any clue what to say if I meet them again or if they invite us over or anything. Please help!

He’s sick but I want him to stay awake and play with me or watch a movie or do something else besides sleep but every time I wake him up he falls asleep again. My wife isn’t like here so there’s nothing to do besides watch the little stupid **** and he isn’t that fun.

She is 3 years old and still wears pull ups! When she goes to daycare she uses the toilet when she's home she'll use it where ever she is. I've tried putting her in time out and even tried rewarding her for going to the bathroom but nothing is working. It seems like she does it on purpose to see how I react!

I recently enrolled my grandson in a playgroup. I thought this would be a good place for him to learn sharing and to interact with other children as he has never gone to daycare. Parents have the option of staying with their children or going into a parenting discussion. There are about 15 children ages 18 months to 4 years and two "aides". There are 2 activity areas for things like playdo and coloring. There are places to drive trucks, read, play house and dress up. There is no structure at all. No one encourages the kids to play together, breaks up fights, plays with the kids. If one cries he is taken to his Mom who must leave the discussion and return to the playroom. Playgroup is 2 hours, once a week and costs $12.
This is not what I was expecting. Please tell me your playgroup experiences or other ideas for my child to interact with other children.

How exactly do you start? I know there are signs to look for (seems uncomfortable in a poopy diaper, pulls diaper off, etc.) What other signs should I look for? Should I just put him on his little potty during the day when he *usually* has to poop (he's like clockwork), hoping he will? Should I start by training him to pee in the potty? I don't know!!

WHen we are home I let him run around naked and he will pee and poopoo everytime he needs to go, but as soon as he puts on bigboy underwear or pullups he goes in them. I cannot get through tom him that he should not pee in his big boy pants. I have tried encouraging him and asking him if he has to go and everything else, even rewarding him but he just keeps coming up to me and saying I peepeed in my big boy underwear? Any suggestions?

when i went to go pick up my kid (6), his teaher was outside and had briefly remarked about how my son had a lilttle sharing problem in school that day. so when we got home, i asked him if he in fact had a sharing problem in school today and he said "yes, mommy, none of the kids wanted to give me their stuff!" i've tried to explain sharing and tried teaching him when he is around hi younger cousins but he just doesn't get it. i mean, its not that hard, is my kid so hard headed to understand or is he just mean?

my son's teacher gives the kids treats every friday (such as small toys or candy). My 5 year old got his candy friday, ate it. all was good. Yesterday, when I go pick him up, his teacher tells me that he ate some kids candy that was in the other child's basket. the excuse "it was there and i wanted it". I was really upset. I told the teacher to not give my kid a treat this week but allow the other boy two.
My cousin thinks I over reacted and I shouldn't have done that. That he is only 5 and doesn't really know right from wrong. I think I should of done more.

Opinios please.
I did talk with my child and explained.

I am having a problem getting my daughter to sleep all night in her own bed. I have tried the ferber method and it doesn't work for me. She will cry for more than an hour. We haven't let her go for longer than that. She is a very restless sleeper and wakes up often during the night. I need to get some new ideas to help me get my nights back to being for me and my husband instead of running up and down the stairs to try to get her to stay asleep.
