I took her to the hospital this morning, she hadn't peed in 40 hrs. All the blood tests came back neg., Kidneys and liver are fine. She wasn't dehyrdated, no sign of any kind of infection at all. After 6+ hrs of I. V. drip ( 550ml) and 6 bottles she peed a little bit. Then the doctors just like "Okay, go home, she peed". It doesn't add up. What could have made her not pee for 2 days? (she also lost 2.5 lbs since thurseday, and has had a good appetite.)

She did see the pediatrition first, he is one of the best in the state of CA, he sent us to valley childrens emergency room in fresno. They told us she was fine so we went back to the pediatrition and he said to watch her closely for fever, rash, vomiting, dirriera. She has not had any of these simptoms.

Do you bathe her in bubble bath? When I was a child I used to love bubble baths - however, it caused me to have bladder infections all the time (until my mom figured it out). Anyway - because of the infection - I developed a narrowed urethra and made it very difficult for me to pee.
So - I would suggest you monitor how much fluid she is taking in for the next few days and how many wet diapers she has. Cut
out bubble baths (if she is having these), and then take her to a urologist (specialist) That is definitely NOT NORMAL.

My daughter did the same thing around 7 mos. (Hadn't peed in 38 hrs, or hadn't drank any formula in 32 hrs) Problem was she didn't have an appetite and was already under weight. Pediatrician said take her to the ER and have them run tests. Doc at the hospital said that she was fine and I could take her home. He said that no one knows why or how, but sometimes their pee circulates which helps keeps them hydrated. It lasted for about 2 more days (and several other docs) then the 5th day she peed enough to make up for the last 4.5 days. Good luck and just keep getting her to eat (drink).

I have to disagree with you. The baby either voided and you missed it some how or she passed the fluid in her stool. The key to your question is the loss of 2.5 lbs. Your baby was dehydrated but didn't show the normal signs right away. However, weight loss has to be explained and the fluid has to be accounted for that baby has been taking in since "thursday". I suggest several things.
1. make a journal of amount intake and amount output; you can even weigh the diapers if you want to to be accurate and tally every 12 hours
2. see a Pediatrician and submit that information from 1 over a 2-3 day period
3. you need a reliable reference for pediatric care
4. increase baby's daily intake of nutrition/fluid

It's probably just a part of her growth. Each child is different, so maybe this is how she is developing. Just make sure you feed her plenty of substances, and she should be fine. Maybe she has a big bladder and can hold a lot, who knows. If things get worse, take her back to the doctor or try a different doctor than the first one to get a different (and hopefully better) answer.

Take your baby to another doctor or hospital and ask if it might be kidney stones my baby had kidney stones about 18 months and didn't pee of almost two days before the doctors found out. don't give up don't take no for an answer.

Watch her very close for the next 48 hours. How is her color? is she getting yellow?
If she is eating well and not urinating, and is still losing weight, thats very odd. It does not add up. I think your missing something. You can not be taking in and taking in and not putting out and still lose weight. IF you have discovered some new diet, congrats, your rich. Lots of fat people would love to know your secret. So you must be missing something. Take another look.

something is not adding up like everyone else who has answered i would go to another pediatrition or get on the phone and call a urologist i'm sure there are some pediatric urologists out there but you can call a urologist
and run it by them.the fluids have to be going somewhere if there not coming out. good luck!!!

If you don't feel comfortable take her and get a second opinion.
When my son was a baby he was acting funny I took him to the Dr and they said all was well, I wasn't convinced. 11 days later I found out by a different Dr he had a tumor. Always go with your gut!

Honey sometimes babies don't pee when we want them to. When there bladder is full and the diaper is off then they'll pee. and its either on you, or a pool of water around her on the bed or change table. Good luck
PS: If she develops a fever, and rash and crying very hard a shrilly cry then bring her to the emergency she can have a block or UTI. (infection)
