the cough is only occasional, and i had her to the doctor about 3 weeks, and they listened to her lungs and such and she was fine..but she still has the runny nose, and because of it, occasionaly the congested wet cough...anyone else had this...allergies or something else? She is my youngest of 3, and for the life of me i can't remember if the other 2 ever had the same problem.

Maybe it is just allergies. I would call the doctor and ask him to recommend something over the counter for her to take. My children have very bad allergies and my doctor had no problem recommending medication that is appropriate for their age and weight. If any other symptoms do occur I would take her back to the doctor and if he still says nothing is wrong, GET A SECOND OPINION. There is nothing wrong with being absolutely sure. Take care.

The sinuses draining can cause coughing. IF the rattling returns to the chest then go get baby rechecked. As long as the cough stays productive, as long as shes feeling well and eating well, shes fine, depending on the temps outside, use that as a guide to go out, air out the house while you go on a walk too. During the winters, we get the dust from the heater in the air, and also keep her hydrated, a runny nose believe it or not, can be a sign of slight dehydration. Wash everything up constantly, toys bed rails, anything baby is touching right now. Time will tell either itll go away or develope into somehting else, any fever, do the tylenol.

It could be allergies, but it could be a virus.

Go to your pediatrician, becasue you don't want to find your kid dead or something. The wet cough indicates possible congestion of the lungs. Go to the doctor. Better safe than sorry.

It sounds like the same symptoms that my friend's 16 mth old has. Her ped just told her it's probably allergies and they want to do some tests.

my baby had the same thing. the doc checked her out and said she was fine. she got worse so we took her to the er and they did a chest xray and she had pneumona. the doc office doesnt do chest xrays unless they think it is absolutly necessary. that made me mad bc she was sick and they just brushed it off. if the child gets worse, take them to the er. they will do the appropriate test.
