it is a virus, a lot of kids get it as infants. The wors part is the fever- but if you are seieng the rash, the fever part is over.... don't worry, roseola is not some horriable disease. Your little wone will be fine :o)

I was a toddler teacher for many years and have a 5 yr old * who had it a few times *, its just a viral rash, they get a fever for a few days and then when the fever starts to break they get a red lacy rash its fades away in a few days, its a very common virus, and get passed around like wild fire, because you dont know what it is until the rash comes up, its more common in children under 3, if your child goes to daycare chances are she will get it a few times, its nothing to worry about and it not a herpes type infection like we adults think about.... your doc should have explained it better.

It's a virus. Both of my daughters had it. They had high fevers for three days, then a rash for three days, then they were fine. My doctor told me it was nothing to worry about as long as the fever wasn't too high for more than three days and the rash went away. The rash didn't bother either of them at all, and it cleared up and we had no problems. Don't worry. I've heard that all babies get it but some react a lot, some not at all.
