I was looking for a straw cup and my daughter is 15 months. She has the Munchkin Dora straw cup, what I dont like about it is that if it is tipped over for a period of time it will start leaking out of the straw and one of those cups it spills out of the rim of the cup (something is wrong with that cup) and i tried the nuby. which leaks sometimes.

We use the GERBER cups. The valve inside seems to work better than the Playtex ones. One time we had a leaking valve, and Gerber sent us four new ones to replace the ONE broken one.

I like Gerber sippy cups. They come in 2 different sizes and are 3 pieces(cup, lid and valve). The pieces are made of hard plastic so they can't be chewed up and you can buy replacement valves when they get worn out so you're not buying a whole new cup every time like some brands. These cups have survived 2 boys(7 and 3), they still get used as a glass for water at bedtime so I don't have to worry about spills in bed.

nuby is really good if they're good with tiliting the cup enough to get it out because there's no straw.

ours got started on the nuby without a straw but he didn't do well with having to lift it to get the drink since he was so used to just being able to suck until something came out with his bottle.

im not sure of the brand, but the one we use with the straw, is a thick straw and rubber, so it's not too drastic of a change from his bottle and he does wonderfully with that, unless it's milk which he'll only drink from a bottle since it's associated with nap and bed time.

Iused a Playtex non spill cup they have a valve inside the lid that you can remave later on, they do leak after a few years and you shouldn't put hot drinks in them you can also get replacement valves.

i like Nuby...but if your child is close to the age of 2 start teaching the use of a big kid cup. accidents will happen but otherwise they will never learn.

best spill proof drink container for toddlers: mommy's breasts. mommy's milk provides many benefits for toddlers, too. the natural time for weaning is 4 - 7 years. pros - always ready, never leaks, always gives exactly right nutritution.
