when i was growing up i never once though about going out on the streets i always stayed in my comfort zone. thsts my problem now, i will not wonder outside my comfort zone now. why are children attractive to the negative surroundings?

my 14 year old did not come home because i found out he missed 3 straight days out of school and i have put myself in debt so he can attend a private school. but his action are not showing that he wants his mouth says onething but action does another. ( i know he is worth it)

i told the police to take him to juvenile because i can't be worrying about his safety when he runs off and does not come home for 24 hours or more. and i will not give into that radical behavior.

I will not give up not yet because GOD did not give up on me.

She's nearly 15 and her grades have been steadily dropping for the past 4 years. We've tried therapy, ADD medication, taking away privileges... what else can we do? The only clue she's given us is that if she doesn't like her teacher, that she won't do the work for them. Before the decline her grades were As and Bs and she tried very hard to get those grades.

I read someone else's question about an ex wanting money for an activity for their child. Completely enraged me that the new wife/step mom is not wanting to help with the finacial obligation of the activity. She seems to feel that the minimal childsupport paid is enough. As well as she voiced a complaint that they have this child every other weekend because of the mother.
First issue I have is how can she complain when she had to know he had a child before they married?
Does this just seem like petty kid sh!t to anyone else?

My daughter is failing school, only passed one subject this whole year of grade 10. She used to be a straight A student. She skips school constantly and has been suspended too many times to count.
I have tried grounding, she goes out anyway. I have taken away all priviliges, cell phone, computer, tv etc etc. She doesn't seem to care. If I tell her she's not allowed to go somewhere, she goes anyway. She has no respect for me as a parent.
The other day, I kicked her out of the house. I know she is at a friends house and know she is safe. I want her home, but not with the disrespect she gives to me.
Help??????

My husbands ex girlfriend has their child he is 8 and he wants to play football this season. My question is she wants him to pay half of the price. But we pay $50 a week for child support and she has three other kids from three other fathers and is not hurting for money. Her new husband has a great job, they have two vehicles, a brick home and a lot of nice things. Where as my husband and I live in a single wide trailer, have one vehicle, and hardly any money to spare. It is my place to step in and say something. What do you think i should do?

One of my employees had her 4-year old dauther with her at work yesterday due to a childcare situation. I made exception even though I do have this as one of the things upon hire that cannot happen due to the environment that we work in. While I was chatting with them, her little girl said "My mommy said that you are gross because you smoke." The Mother “quickly” threw out, "My daughter has taken this out of context, Beth, and I adore you. I love working for you, and I like you personally, but my husband and I greatly discourage smoking so we always tell her that smoking is gross; I do not know why she would say that I said that." I agree that smoking should be discouraged to children, but this is not the issue. Should I believe her? This is the only question so I request to keep the answers to the questions of should I believe the Mother or believe in the statement that “children repeat everything they hear so be careful what you say.”?

I have 3 kids and another on the way. Our rule for spankings is if what they are doing will HURT them they get a spanking.. I.E. running in the street, jumping on the bed, etc. Well on Saturday hubby and I had to go to the hospital and his father and step mom took our kids. My son (4) was acting up and wouldn't walk over to his grandpa. They were indoors and he was sitting on the couch. So.. my father in law spanked him. I am pissed!!!! How would you feel? and Yes his dad knows how we discipline our kids since they live across the street from us. Thanks

he is 36mths old. he understands us totally, does what we tell him to, says lots of words, forms two-word sentences, but not a complete proper sentence. should i be worried? i, as a baby, didnt say a word till the age of 3, so could it be genetic?though he is much advanced than what i was as a baby.should i show him to a doctor? a speech therapist maybe? as this not being able to form sentences leave him totally frustrated as well pretty often which makes him go mad.

I'm 23 and It's my first child and alway thaught that when you have a baby you have at least one baby shower. I know mostly family and friends throw stuff like this for you but I don't have to many friends becase I'm not from this area and all my family is down South. It's not like I have a mom or dad that would do this for me becuse they both passed away when I was 3, the family that I do have that rasied me did just that raise me and since 16 I'v been on my own and up north with one of my sisters in the area close where I leave. And as for my boyfriend I try to drop hints to him that this is his baby as much as mine and his family can do something but all he say is baby showers are a womens thing and I don't have nothing to do with that. I don't want to come out and just put it out there up front becase I've alway been the type not to what others to think I'm needy or begging for anything when it comes to myself. I don't know maybe I'm feeling this way because I pregnant and harmonal

I am so overwhelmed lately with breastfeeding, caring for our four week old and three year old son and myself. I'm a sahm/wahm with a wonderful and helpful husband but am finding myself exhausted and helpless during the weekdays. I don't have anyone who can come help during the days nearby and can't afford childcare or a sitter.
I have pleaded for my mom to come help but she says she can't. I am at my wits end and starting to feel depressed because of it all. I may need to give up breastfeeding just to give myself a little break. I hate to do this but feel it is becoming my only option. Any advice and suppot is appreciated.
