My son is 11 also and I wouldn't let him see it. It is ultimately your decision and should be based on your child's maturity level and your household rules.

Passion of the Christ is a great movie. However, the way they
show his torture and crucification is not for the squemish.
Keep in mind there is no delicate way to film his death.
Jesus death is the center of one Blessed Man, who through fate reedemed humanity sins in the Eyes of God.

Though it would take three times longer, I would suggest
having him watch with You "Jesus of Nazareth." The crucification is very gripping and emotionally shattering, but
it is not as grahphic as "The Passion of The Christ". He can
also be inspired and have greater faith, when he watches
how they recreate "the Ressurction".

Really, the best person to answer that would be you because no one else knows your son. Is your son relatively mature for his age? If ghost stories freak him out so he doesn't sleep for a week, I'd hold off on this movie. If you think he's mature for his age, offer him the movie, with the proviso that if he gets upset, he doesn't have to watch it - he can leave the room or you can shut it off. IMO - if he's a mature kid, this would open up a great discussion!

When in doubt, watch it yourself and then decide.

Seeing as I am a Christian, yes I would let my daughter watch it. We haven't seen it yet, and my daughter is 4, but she already knows that Jesus died for us. PERSONALLY, this is what I think. However, I know that isn't the popular thing and most parents say no. I think that if you think it's a good thing for him to see, go for it. This is a historic event, not some made up stuff. My four year old watches the History Channel with me. Anyway, I say do whatever you are comfortable with.

Of course, if he wants to watch it let him. Explain to him before hand that it is all acting, all the blood and stuff is fake and its basically the story of Jesus. Warn him that it might be upsetting , and leave the decision up to him. Dont be like kakabird whatever..who the fu ck wants to watch all G rated movies, her kids probably hate her a ss.

I think that he could be a little too young to watch it just because it is graphic. It depends on whether or not you have watched it yourself though. You should watch it first by yourself then make a decision. If he has watched "R" movies before, he could be ready to watch it. It is a movie you can't pass on, though. Maybe waiting a while would be better.

I'm not a parent, but I think the graphic nature of it could easily upset anyone under 15 or so. It's upsetting even to older teens and adults.

well it's a bit rough for an 11yr old child, but you have the last say so in this but I recommend for you not to watch it with him, watch something else that you both will enjoy and talk about after the movie. Have fun guys!

PS don't forget the popcorn :>)

No. Try the Greatest Story Ever Told. Same thing but less graphic.

I was irate when I found out my step kids mother allowed them to see that movie, the violence is horrid. You should certainly watch it first then decide, if you feel an 11 yr old is mature enough to handle it that is your decision.
