Come on, brag a little. With all the problems children bring our attention to, it's nice to focus on the cute stuff...so what have your children done to bring a smile to your face today?

I have a daycare at home and usually don't have any problems with the parents. But today I came across a big problem. I require the parents to bring a sippy cup or leave one at my home for their child. One mother leaves her daughter's sippy cup with me, but occasionally takes it with her for her ride home. Which is fine as long as she brings another one the next day. Last night her daughter took her sippy cup home, and this morning came here with another one. It already had milk in it so I felt no need to empty it. But breakfast time came and I opened her sippy cup to find old milk clumped up on the inside of the lid. It wasn't just in the crevaces. It was in plain sight. Just hanging there. I rinsed it off and took off the no spill stopper to find more chunky milk inside the sippy cup spout. Of course I washed it really good and got it all out. But I was mortified with the idea that her daughter had been drinking out of it. Should I confront her mother with this? If so, how?

imagine if you had a daughter who is 19,
she prepared you a gr8 breakfast, bought you flowers and a present.
present is a set of cups
she cleaned the house and cooked for you.
she behaved very nicely to you all day.
how would you feel? :)))

When my husband's 4 yo daughter comes to visit (about once a month for 3-5 days, will be much longer this summer), the house ends up looking like a tornado hit. We have just been letting it go for a few days during her visit and cleaning everything after she leaves. What age is appropriate to make the kids start cleaning up their own toys? I'm starting to get a little concerned that if we continue to do this for her too long, that it will be too hard to change later on & lead to her taking advantage on other things as she gets older. Also, I don't want to live in a warzone of a house for a month this summer. I know kids are messy, etc but when/how do we teach them to start doing these sorts of things for themselves? I have no kids of my own & I'm still trying to find my place in all this (I'm sure other step parents will understand...) Other than DH's kids, I haven't been around kids much so I'm still very unsure of what I'm doing or should be doing

when they are being adorably rotten?

Mine were usually: rug rats, curtain climbers, puddle jumpers, ankle biters, or just plain...full of prunes! lol What were yours?

Can't seem to find a reward system that does not seem to cause havoc with the other child that is already potty trained. All advice welcome. Thanks

Okay I was wondering how to tell someone you can have children physically but shouldn't because it would be risky?

I know guys that's a HUGE turn off for guys but there is nothing that can be done to go around it.

Any suggestions as to when you should tell someone that because you don't want to scare them off but you don't want to say to late.

My friend has a 10 month old son and he still wakes up 2-3 times at night? Is this normal? He eats well and she gives him cereal in his milk at night but he still wakes up. I told her I think he gets too much sleep during the day but she said he only takes two naps..

i would LOVE T obe a stay at home mom but don't find it realistic to not work at all... i seem to need to work atleast 2 or 3 days a week due to finances. how much are all of your husbands making to support your family? i don't think my husband's salary could support me and my baby-on-the-way. he only makes $350 a week after taxes and insurance. i make about $100/day.

Hi, I found out that my 12 year old daughter kissed a 12 year old boy, I was upset when she confesed me, I set rules then she decided to go and live with her father, he is not a nice man or father, on top of that he is an alcoholic. She left three days ago and missed her dearly, my heart breakes when I look at her pictures in the house. Should I tell her to come back home or let her find out what kind of man he is. I realy want on honest asnwer from a heart broken mother. Thanks and I appriciate your answers.

How to explain to your children on where do babies come from?

I don't know what happened but getting pregnant turned tragic for our relationship. We concieved out of love and here we are six months later with NO LOVE for each other. Its turned very nasty. I think we fell for that stupid idea that I baby would fix things. We've tried and tried to try fix things, we even tried counseling. But ultimately there are issues that can't be resolved that somehow were excerbated by the pregnancy. The father and I cannot even have a civil, respectful conversation anymore. I feel very guilty about bringing a child into the world in these circumstances. I don't think its fair for our son to come into the world to 2 parents who hate each other. But the thing is, I'm going away to grad school so either we work it out, or I go it alone. Which is better for our baby's wellbeing? No father or 2 parents who hate each other? By no father I mean, we'll be far away, too far away for weekend visits. I just want to do whats best for our baby.

My daughter wants to have a summer job of walking dogs. I think it's a very good idea to teach her the value of a dollar. She is 12 years old turning 13. How much do you think we should have people pay her?

I'm a SAHM of a 3 month old little girl. I am not ready to go back to work - I love staying home with my dd, but I would love to still be making some money. I'm thinking of offering daycare in my fairly small town - probably for just one child. I was thinking of putting an ad in the paper. The thing is, I live in a small apartment, there wouldn't be a lot of running around room or anything. There is a small playground in my complex. I guess it would be ideal for very young babies who didn't NEED running around room. It's a christian home, very clean, very neat. I would provide the food (if the child was old enough that they ate something other than formula or breastmilk). Would this sound appealing to you at all if it were a good price? Be honest, it won't make me feel bad - I don't want to put it in the paper for nothing!! Thanks gals!

My 4 year old dtr has 2 cavities that need to be filled. They are going to sedate her and that scares me. They are going to have her drink something and give her laughing gas. Has anyone gone through this with their children?? I already feel guilty that she has the cavities in the first place!! Thank you for your advise.

I don't know how to cope. HELP!!!

My in laws, Have this way of indirectly making me feel like I act like/think I am better than them when it comes to raising my children.

I choose not to use tap water when making my youngest daughters bottles, I instead, Use Nursery water. I don't heat her bottles up in the microwave, Instead, I use a pan of hot water to heat them.
(My daughter is 6 months old)...I choose not to give her any and everything in her bottle, They have given their children V8, regular milk, kool-aid, sugar water etc...from birth up for their children.
I choose to buy "expensive" diapers instead of the store brand, Mind you, I'm not above using store brand, Currently my daughter is wearing Kroger brand diapers, But I just feel Huggies offer more protection. Anyway - I don't act like I think I am better than anyone, becuase I'm not...But they have this way of making me feel like that, And it makes me feel inadequte when I am around them.

How can I make myself NOT feel this way?!
