My daughter will know something is different when she goes to my parents house and "Papa" isn't there. This is the hardest thing I've ever faced in my life. I want to honestly help her understand what has happened at the level she's at, but I do not want to overwhelm her or scare her. I'd like advice from others- have any of you had to face this before?

OK, so I know a girl that was abused by both her parents her whole life. She is 14 now and it got so bad that she ended up in the hospital. She told child protect services and the hospital about the abuse recently. Her parents abused her physically, verbally, and emotionally and her dad also abused her sexually. Some of the things her mother said to her caused her to become anorexic. She has been in the hospital for 3 months because of what her parents did to her. A few weeks ago we found out that she had cancer and she had her first chemo a few days ago. She is really tired but can't sleep because she gets bad dreams about her parents and she is afraid that her parents are going to come and "get her" while she is sleeping. Right now I am taking care of her and am working on adopting her(I'm in my late 40's). She really needs to get some rest but I can't get her to sleep. What should I do? Usually I tell her a story and then sleep in bed with her and talk to her until she falls....

What type of products do pre-teen girls use? Tampons? Pads? My boyfriend's 11 y/o daughter lives with us. I do not have a daughter and her mother is not taking care of her right now. Here's the thing, she started her period at the age of 10. She is very embarrassed to talk to her dad and hesitant to talk to me. Problem is, I don't know what products to buy her. I don't want to make it worse for her. I was 13 when I started, I can't imagine being 10! Her little sister just turned 10 so we are probably going to have the same thing happen. I need suggestions on what to buy. What do you think she uses? She I buy both and just put them in the bathroom, even though the boys share that bathroom? Should I have her keep them in her room? Should I make her sit down & talk about it? AYE! Now I know why girls are harder than boys!

I was just wondering if it is illegal for my boyfriend, who is not the biological father of my child, to sign the birth certificate when my child is born.

For parents or soon-to-be parents:

1. God made dirt. Dirt don't hurt. I'm a more laid back parent and proud of it! As long as my baby is clean, fed, and safe, I don't really care. Germs and minor bumps help baby grow up strong!

2. I must, I must, I must disinfect! I'm an OCD parent and proud of it! I am always worried about cleaning my home to make sure my baby is safe from germs. I also have an uber-baby safe home.

just curious ;-)

Dont you guys think I have been ton the police by now? Dontn you think I have been to legal Aid nand those places by now? Dont you think I have searched the Internet by now? It has been a whole year plus some for crying out loud. I have 80 hrs to go into my externship so i can make money to have a lawyer. I apparently did not have custody because we were not married and I couldnt very well get childsupport from someone who was in jail. I pray a lot and I tried every thing I could think of except called the news and talk shows which I am starting to do now. I cant afford to do much with a 7& 10n year old at home and on welfare and a full time student. I know its hard to believe but these are the same type of responses I got from a whole lot of people who were supposed to in my opionion to help. No its not kidnapping when his name is on the birth certificate. The cops in chicage told me to find out where his wife works and follow her. How would I do that from Michigan and going to school

On November 25 2005 My kids father Ryan M. Bell Sr. of Chicago Il. ask me if he can visit with his children after doing 2 & 1/2 years in Ohio prison. I let him and he never brought the children back. I have spoken to them several times when his alleged wife Penny Hersey got mad and told me that she was going to get the kids back to me but now they have their phone turned off and my older daughter aunt told me that Childsupport papers have just come to her house. I cant wait until she gets them to me in the mail. Mabye they will have an address on them. This crackhead babydaddy of mine took them so he could get a check to buy dope and now he wants money for the kids he stole from me. Are you freaking kidding me? I have exuasted all possibilities with this boy. All I want is my kids back. If I had money for a lawyer I would have been had my children back. What should I do?

we have a indoor pool and my mom bought my sisters new swimsuits, and as a joke i took one and cut the crotch out, my sister came in crying, she came in my room furious asked me if i did this, and i was laughing and said yea it was just a joke. she was so mad, she took me by the arm, and into the car and drove me into the store where she got it, and to my embarrassment she took me up to the sales lady told her what i did, and tells her that i will be paying to replace it, and i will always be needing one for myself, and my eyes bugged out my face turned red. the sales lady laughed and came back with two pink swimsuits with these little skirts attached, mom made me buy it and take it home, and as punishment that will be my bathing suit for the summer, since i cant seems to respect peoples property, and tonight shes making me wear it in the pool, can she do this as a punishment? is it fair, i feel like a girl, its emabrrasing?

gets hurt from rough housing, falling, etc, he bursts into tears like he is 2; yet, if he gets hurt in a basketball or football game, he wont' cry at all. When my our son has these crying episodes, my husband pampers him and makes excuses for his crying - "he is physically hurt" -there is no blood or bruising of course. It drives me crazy! My son will be 11 in a few months and I just feel he is so immature and I feel my husband is contributing to the immaturity. Saying anything to my husband is pointless cause he gets defensive and takes up for our son. I don't have a problem with boys crying when they are truly hurt, but our son cries for EVERYTHING; whether he is truly hurt or not. At 10 he still sucks his thumb and it is frustrating me because as I try to stop the behaviors my husband will say things like, " well I iacted like that when I was a child so I understand" or just something, anything to excuse the behavior. I have grown frustrated and do not know what to do.

My bf of 2 yrs and i recently broke up but are on a break. We broke up because I would flip out if his parents made him change his plans then we couldn't hang out. Also because we wouldnt see each other at all over the summer because of his treveling baseball team. We still talk everyday and love each other alot and our parents also founf out that we had sex. We are just turning 17. The thing is I have to change fo us to get back together cuz i realize that I get mad too easy, but breaking up has been a serious wake up call for me. Any more suggestions on how i can show him i have changed and tips for me to completely change.

P.S. I am not just changing for him I am also doing it for myself.
