When we were using the same sitter every weekend for about 6 hours per weekend we were able to negotiate $100 per month. That was for one kid (and it was about 4 years ago). Now we have two kids and use sitters just periodically and we pay $5 per hour. I'm sure it varies a lot depending on where you live. We live in Idaho, we also tend to have sitters only after the kids have gone to bed so they're not really expected to do much, and we provide them with pizza if they want it.

It depends on the age of the sitter..... a high school kid is going to charge less then an adult. I pay an 18 year old roughly $5 an hour. That's because it's usually late when she is here and the kids are sleeping an hour after she gets here. So her only real job is to make sure nothing out of the ordinary happens..... It just depends on the time, age and age of children.

Ask the person who you want to babysit make u an offer. Most of the time they will go lower then regular becouse they need the money. But 90% of the time you can get someone to watch your kid/s for about 6 dollars an hour. Best of luck in your search.

I believe that it's around 7-8 dollars an hour...some are higher, and some are lower, but around there.
