I can't believe I'm asking strangers for advice but, you all help alot. :) This is about sex, so if you don't want to read.. then don't. My husband and I since we had our son, hasn't had much sex lately. My sex drive before I got pregnant was out of the roof and now.. it's not. And I just figured out why it's like that. We don't argue all the time about it.. but we have arguements at least 3 times a week because of the matter. Now, We've been talking about it all day and I just thought of the reason why.. I feel guilty when our son is home with us and we want to be intimate. I feel like when he's there, it's his time. Not ours. Is that wrong of me to think that way? I feel like I'm a bad mother to have that thought even. Why is that? Do all new mothers go through this? I would ask my friends but, none of them have babies. Please, I need some help/advice.

I have a friend who has 2 young children, she has not been working she borrows money from everyone to party. She ignores her children and lives in a one bedroom apartment with two kids her boyfriend and three dogs. Her home is not safe or sanitary for children. Neither of her children have ever had a birthday party, (one is 10), or had any friends over! I always bring over groceries because she has no food in her home. Its not a good environment for children there is constant drinking and drug use going on at the home. The children are completely neglected. I tried to talk to her about it and now she refuses to talk to me. I feel terrible for her children and know its not a safe environment for them, what can I do?

toward african american single mothers. I cant have a scholorship in school because Im white. I had good grades but I cant be offered a fair scholorship because Im white!!!
Dont go off telling me I am racist because you are very wrong. People want everything to be fair If there was a scholorship for just white single mothers which there isnt. Everyone else would think it was racist, but this isnt???

I understand that there seem to be problems with minorities getting scholorships but it seems that white people have to get straight a's and amazing SAT scores to get in but something like being a single mother, well any single mother can get one, but they are only offered to minorites. If you are smart, rich and white you get a deal, but if you are a poor minority you get it pretty easy. Michael Jackson isnt a smart man but he made a mistake by going white thats for sure.

Here in a few years, my husband and i want to adopt a little boy, and i know its a long process, but i would really like a heads up. So i would like to know what factors the take into effect when you are going through this process.
Do you have to make a certain amount of money?
Do they look at your background?
Is age a problem?
I just need some information, so ill kinda know what is to be expected.

I am working on a research paper about "breatfeeding"
I'd like to hear your honest inputs, you're feedback is greatly appreciated...
How old are you?
Did your mother breastfeed you?
How many kids do you have?
Did you breast-feed? if yes for how long?
What made you choose breastfeeding?
What are some of the reasons you didn't breastfeed?
How often does your child (children) get sick?
How many ear infections do they get a year?

thank you for your input!

I love my little girl to pieces. She is my miracle baby when I was told I wouldn't have children.

But I have been noticing lately that no matter what I do or say to her there is no pleasing her. We live in a loving home she has freedoms and privilleges I never had when I was a kid. But she is not spoiled either though. She has her set of rules and follows them wonderfully she also takes responsiblity for her friends and what they do when they are in our home.

She cries though if she doesn't get what she wants. She has the meanest looks at times. She ruins outings. non stop complaining. Mood swings. Really its as if PMS has already started. I don't know what to do

I am 18 years old, married and we have one son who is 15 months old. I will be starting classes at a community college in the fall and then most likely transferring to a university. However, I do not want my children to be far apart and my husband and I plan on working on another one by next spring. Is this too much? Can it be done?

My son is 16 years old. We have to leave the house no later than 6:35 every morning. He hits snooze countless times, until I go in there and start yelling at him to get up and threatening to take things away from him if he doesn't get up, etc. He finally slowly gets up and then takes his good old time, and by the time he turns the water off in the shower, it's time to get out the door and I am FUMING. I take him to school on my way to work, where I have to be by 7:30. We always have to rush around and I get to work BARELY in time. No time for breakfast, no nothing.

Well, here it is 6:20 and he's still not up. I am determined to not say another word to get him up. It's just too stressful. I told him 15 minutes ago "last call"......and he hasn't even moved. So I guess he'll just have to go to school with no shower and dirty hair, huh? He does this EVERY SINGLE DAY....and of course, when he finally does get up, he has a horrible attitude and I just want to choke him. Suggestions?

He grew up with a very critical parent and now realizes the damage it does but doesn't seem to know how to stop himself. She is only 6, but he over reacts when she spills something. He yells rudely to be left alone. He expects perfection. He knows he is wrong and he WANTS to stop, but he doesn't know how to stop parenting like he was parented. How can I help him stop? I was overcompensating by being too lenient with her, but now I am getting much better (he has been traveling a lot lately), and I told him to just play with her... no more discipline from him!! I will be the only one to discipline her (we don't spank her, but she gets put in the corner sometimes). That is our plan. Any other advice would be welcome. Thanks.

I am a stay at home mom to a 4 month old baby. I am ready to go back to school and finish my degree at the university. In order to keep my federal grant, I have to take 2 classes a semester. I will be finished in 3 years if I only take 2 classes a semester.

I can't take online classes, but luckily the college is nearby and I can do my homework once my baby goes to sleep.I will go to school 2 nights a week and my husband will be at home with our child.

Is 2 classes a semester a lot when you are a stay at home mom?

Helicopter parents. More and more parents are doing things for their children instead of GUIDING them and letting them learn and experience for themselves. I know parents who do their child's homework, who get involved in school yard drama; I had a mother call my child and yell at her because she supposedly gave her child a "dirty look". That's the closest I've ever came to violence against another human being. I told her kids have tiffs and falling outs all the time and unless someone is being harmed, let them work it out. My daughter went to her first prom this year and she said parents were AT THE PROM, video taping, taking pictures, and telling their children how to pose. My daughter got her first job this year and there were parents in the interview with their children. What the heck is going on here? What happened to guiding children and letting them learn from their mistakes? Do any of you see this happening?

My son is going to be 5 on June 1st. I never spank him because I was abused as a child. I am married so my son has a step dad. We have been together for 4 years. I have never let him spank my son nor have I given him permission to. He has a 7 year old daughter whom I have never touched.
Yesterday my husband and son were going to go to a gas station to get candy and stuff and I was teasing my husband telling him he had to take the dog with him. I let the dog out front and shut the door. Next thing I know my son came running in crying. He said my husband spanked him. My husband came in and said my son was telling the dog "go go" and the dog was running across the street after a man. I know that my son was telling the dog she could go to the gas station not to go get the man. My husband said he didnt spank him that he barley tapped him. When I looked at my sons butt it had a hand print on it and it was raised and hot. My husband had to hit him hard ! What would u do? I told my man off

like i said before, my 12 year old daughter is using nair for her under arms and i asked if it was normal and people were calling me a bad parent. then i got mad and i looked at the bottle and it says, DO NOT USE ON face, around eyes, in nose, in ears or on nipples, perianal, oe vigina, genital areas. does anyone now disagree? it says no where that you can not use on under arms and NO i will NOT let her shave because when u shave it grows in much faster and much thicker.

I am not trying to sound rude or cocky or anything but...I have been on 4 interviews within the past year, and each time the mothers have passed on me. One time it was a scheduling conflict, but the other 3 times, the one mother told me she had chosen someone else, the other two never wrote or called back. I have excellent references, have been working with children all my life and have a few years of documented experience. I am first aid and cpr certified, have all my clearances, have my own car, non-smoker and I am even and early childhood education major in college. I really am getting upset/mad that these mothers (never met the fathers) are not choosing me or not even letting me know why. I always look nice, so I dont think its my physical apperance. I just am really confused on WHY I cant get a decent nanny job. Any help?

My son came home with a question about drugs last week (he's in 3rd grade). I was wanting to find a website that has pictures of different kinds of drugs that are cirrculating right now so he will know them when he sees them. I hate to admit that I know very little about the drug scene and don't know what to warn him against. I need a crash course, can someone please give me a website or some other type of information so I can better talk to my children about drugs? Thanks!

I'm 16 weeks pregnant and i love my fella to bits. The only problem is that now and again (more often lately) he gets really upset and emotional. He has a little boy aged 7 who he doesn't see due to him moving abroad with the mother..circumstances out of his control. He gets upset and says he feels he's failed his son and is scared he's going to be a failure of a father to our baby. He's the kindest most caring and gentle man i know..and i know he'll be a wonderful father! But nothing seems to convince him, and he feels so guilty that he is not seeing his son, more so than ever at the moment. Nothing seems to comfort him. What can i do or say?
