Well, let me ask you this - why are kids better-behaved and more polite with other people than with their parents? Parents are responsible for their own kids, but have a lot less responsibility for other kids; they have to set rules and enforce them for their kids, but not so much for other parents' kids. Plus, it's pretty normal to feel sorry for other kids who have the misfortune to have someone else who isn't as good a parent as we are, so you want to try to be nicer to them...

Sometimes it seems that way. Sometimes it IS that way. Unless you are being beaten or emotionally abused, assume that it's just a temporary viewpoint. I think parents sometimes forget that maybe kids just want to pal around a bit and not be molded 24/7.

Because our own kids know how to push our buttons! LOL! And other kids, even when annoying, go away.
