Children love doing hands-on activities. Baking a cake teaches them about measurements, how to pour things into bowls and containers, and just the simple process of how things are made! Its fun when we bake together because we talk while baking and my children love having responsibilities. As far as physically, it helps a child, especially younger ones learn to hold cooking utensils and stiring the batter strengthens their hands, which is good for later on when they are learning to write!

I started baking at age 6. By the time I was 10, I could make a cake from a mix by myself -- greasing the pan, cutting out wax paper rounds, up to frosting it, all myself. It gave me such a sense of accomplishment! And it made me realize how nice it was when people enjoyed what I made. And my mom required me to do all the dishes myself and leave the kitchen cleaner than it was in the first place. So it was also a lesson in responsibility. When I stared making cookies from scratch, I always had to double the recipes (3 brothers scoop up a lot of cookies) so that was a good lesson in math. I don't know about physically. I guess it was exercise????

I dont know that I understand the question but what I am getting from it is you wonder what the benefits are of children making cakes? The only benefit i see is time spent with mom and self satisfaction at seeing a group of ingredients becoming something special.
