Flowers die...cook her breakfast or make a home-made card....i wish my huby wouldn't waste money on flowers...maybe a plant if you want it to be of that nature?!

Flowers are nice, we aren't expecting more. Something homemade is really nice. It is also nice to show that appreciation. Just writing in a simple hand-made card that you notice all the stuff mom does (the dishes, the laundry, the paperwork, the bills, the doctor's appointments, making sure everyone is on time etc) will mean the world to her. Making her dinner (that she doesn't have to clean up after either) or taking her to dinner is nice too. Surprising mom with a sparkly house and a nice dinner (even if it is Mac and Cheese and hotdogs, as long as she doesn't have to cook or clean) would be an awesome gesture and take no money at all.

My children have decided that they like making me breakfast in bed. It doesn't matter that it sometimes isn't perfect. I LOVE sitting in bed with my kids around me sharing my food with them. Someone always picks some wild flowers (even dandelions) and puts them in a small glass on the tray. I cherish their homemade cards (even computer generated) and the home made gifts they give me. The older kids like to buy things like flowers or a flowering plant from a local flower center (it lasts longer). The gift that means the most is when they spend the day with me and are not off running around with their friends or in their rooms or on the computer. I enjoy just talking to them or hearing what they have to say. I hope we can give you some ideas on what to get your mom. The gift moms want most is time and something from your heart (purchased or created). Your heart will tell you when you find it. If you do give flowers, personalize it with a nice ribbon or a special card and remember to give your mom some of the day to be with you.

My all time favorite mothers day gifts are hand made.
Pink crepe paper carnations have been treasured for thirty years. A papier-mache puppet, under glass for 32 years.
Childrens handprints, framed and on the wall for a year.
I love flowers, real or crepe paper.
I also like chocolate, in case my family is looking.

It never really matters what my children buy me for Mother's Day. They're 6, 4 & 2...so there's not much they can afford...lol. But the little things they give me always warms my heart. Besides, the only thing I need from them is love and I get that everyday...so I'm happy : )

It the thought that counts. I'd be happy with whatever. I rarely get flowers, so yes, flowers would be fine for me.

Honestly, anything my child gets me I will love because of the thought put into it. Last year he made me a necklace out of pasta... I would LOVE flowers, lol.
