Why are people on answers so rude when you ask a question? I asked a question about my 12 year old who is going threw some challenging times and according to some of the idiotd on this site its all my fault and blah blah blah. I mentioned I take him to church and boy did that open a can of worms right down to I force him how could I force him when he asked to go with me am I suppose to tell him no because then you wont be cool, or be proud that he wanted to go and support him on that? Why if people have nothing nice to say about a posted question why dont they not answer it and move on to the next question instead of hurting someones feelings and making then feel like crapp? Why do people act that way and be so judgemental and accusing when they dont know you from adam?

Why would you put your child to bed at 10 or 11pm? If you do, how many hours of sleep are they getting at night? What is the reasoning behind the late hour?
My daughter (1 year old) has had a bed time of 8:00 pm, or close to it, since she was only a few months old. She sleeps 10 or 11 hours a night. This gives my husband and I some time to ourselves to clean up or do "whatever".
I would appreciate the insite. Thanks!

So, what i really don't get is what problem do people have with families with more than 2 children? Why do people even care how many children one family has, as long as they can provide for them? Personally, I want a big family when I get older(I am 14 now), around 8 -10 children. As long as my husband and I could provide for them, what is the problem with that? I don't get it. Why do people frown upon families with this many children? Also, I am not Morman, I am Lutheran(very similar to Catholic, i guess just not as strict in a way?). Any feedback would be appreciated. Sorry for it being so long. : )

He has been out of high school for a year now and does not wish to have a diver LC, the closest bus stop is 4 1/2 mi away, and he is really good at saying "no" or just blowing us off. I want to hit him and throw him out but his mom would go into a sever depression. I love him but I know this is not good, and we just do not what to do. He chooses not to go out and meet any other people since we have moved here (2yrs) he has not left the property for over a year, he is parinoid of everything and anti-social. He has no income and no place to go. I have thought about taking him to Seattle give him $50.00 and leave him there, what do you think? HELP we are worried and scared!

My girlfriend recently came over my house with her 10 week old daughter. I told her that I would try to have my 2 year old son sleeping when she comes over, so we'd have some alone time to talk. She walks into my house and she's annoyed because her daughter is not sleeping. She then looks down the hallway and sees my son, who is still awake, sighs with attitude and says, "He's still awake?" I said I was putting him to sleep soon. I put him in his room but he keeps waking up and opening the door. So I keep going in the room and shutting the door. She tells me,"Can you close his door a little more quietly? She is sensitive to sound" Then the phone rings and I hear her running to the phone and saying, "Oh no...the phone (because the ringing was going to disturb her AWAKE child)...how do you turn the ringer off!" I got off the phone and really wanted to say something but I held my tongue. This was 2 days ago. Should I say something or let it blow over? I'm really p!ssed at her...

We are happy that she does! We just wonder if this inappropriately blurs the distinction between family and nanny.

Hi, I have just started weaning my son who is almost 6 months old. I would be grateful if you could tell me how you feed your baby when you go out for the day. I don't really want to use ready made food jars so how could I feed him my purees?
For example, do you take them out frozen and let them de-
frost? Many thanks for your help.

Mt eldest is 10yrs old and my husband is really horrible to her. I dont know what to do. He swears at her, always yells at her and puts her down, by calling her names and saying she is useless. Its effecting her so much so that she cries all the time and wont eat tea most of the time. She really hates her dad, and is a better person when his not around. I dont want to leave him, cause that would make things worse. But I want him to stop what he does. I've tried talking to him and he then does the woe is me thing and no one ever listens to him.etc,etc. I dont want my daughter to suffer from deep depression or anything like that. She always asks me why, he is like it and I cant answer her. I really need some advise to stop this going on. Also to make him listen and see what he is doing to her. How can I answer my daughters questions as well?

here's the story: i got pregnant by my ex boyfriend, we were all excited and going to get married. however; at about 3 months, when i moved back home to go to school, and away from him. he then completely stopped talking to me. during that time i have gotten back together with my previous ex boyfriend (of 3 years) and he wants to raise the child with me as his own. since the actual father hasn't had anything to do with me or the pregnancy. i called him and asked him what he wanted, and if i didnt hear from him i would assume that its alright for my bf to be the father. he said to do what i wanted. so now i need to know, do i need him to sign something or what to get him to give up his rights? since he has never been involved and doesn't want to be. so that way my fiancee can be on the birth certificate? what do i need to do to make all this happen and have him be on there? so they have his last name and not the actual fathers? not sure what i have to do to make it so hes not involved

I have been saying for a while that I thought there was a trend among younger mothers back toward spanking. Today I ran into an actual survey with the same result. Even though that was my impression--I was surprised by how high the numbers were. The concusion was:

"In 2004, 79 percent of 18 to 24 year old females agreed that a child sometimes needs a "good hard spanking" compared with 61 percent of 45 to 65 year old females" You can find it at: http://www.childtrendsdatabank.org/indicators/51AttitudesTowardsSpanking.cfm

My Mom is one of the 61 percenters, though to people she always seemed liked a very liberal, cool Mom (and she was) but she also believed in an occassional "good hard spanking":http://girlinshortshorts.blogspot.com/2007/04/cute-little-deer-with-bear-behind_28.html

Anyway, do you think these statistics are correct. I do. I think younger parents are just getting sick and tired of spoiled bratty kids and the Supernanny nonsense.

I don't know what will happen cuz I want to have 2 more children and I can't afford to pay for the doctors and hospital.

I can't go to work because I have the kids and my boyfriend can't get insurance b/c he is part time at his job and has to be full time to get insurance. He just had to buy some new gear for his band because somone stole the other gear (and when they get a record deal we'll be ok) and I cant afford to pay for my son's medication without the state's help! How can I stop this so me and my kids won't have to be without insurance?? Do you know if they cancle your medicaid will they take away your EBT and wic?

This isn't fair!! Please help us or im afraid that my kids might get really sick and cant get to see the dr because we cant pay for it. I am an AMERICAN citizen!!

Last night I took my daughter to shop for a gift. Her friend @ daycare we know absolutely nothing about is having a b-day party. I was thinking of spending no more than $15. I was always taught that if you get invited you should bring a gift as courtesy. Unless maybe they said it was ok not to. Even then I still tend to. After about 30-45 min in 1 store (while my daughter's dad waited in the car w/baby, who was sleeping) I decided to go to another store. It just so happens that my daughter's dad/bf works @ this other store. We got there and he just acted like he was upset and said "why don't you just get her a card and put $5 in it. Are you going to invite them to her party. What if they don't get her anything?" In the end I spent $10 on a Barbie pool my daughter picked out. What I'm wondering is what are your opinions on gift giving? Is he right? I guess we really don't know this little girl or her parents. Although my daughter talks about her sometimes.

Guys I was a young parent, and my parents told me they would help out with my child, now he's 3 years old. Well now they are going back on their word.. they throw a fit when I have to go to college class, or babysit to get money, and don't seem to help. They tell me I have to have an eye on him every second, but sometimes I can't. My mom turned around and contradicted herself by saying how she couldn't even keep an eye on me while I was a kid. Geez. They are getting onto me about having to do school assignments during the day, but yet she told me to do them at night. So if I do them at night, I go to bed late, and get up late and they are complaining I'm sleeping in?

What should I do? Im not in a situation where I can move on my own yet..

I have a 3-year-old cousin who asks for everything someone gets. I know kids do this but he scarfs it down as if no one ever feeds him just so he can get some more quicker. I think this got out of hand when my aunt was arrested because he almost O.D. on medicine. Now he has to live with us and he'll just go to the refrigerator sit their with the door open and just eat because it's thier. I thought it was just genetic because my aunt eats alot, but this is ridiculous. When we pull up to McDonald's (Burger King, Wendy's, etc.) he throws tantrums if we don't give him the bag with food quick enough. We thought of eating and buying more healthier foods so when he eats at least its healthy for him. Basically I want to know if it's correct to call him greedy, or less harsh word.

I know a 14 year old girl who is abused by both her parents. She is now in the hospital because of her parents abuse.I am taking care of her right now, I am kind of like her mother (I'm in my late 40's). She recently told CPS that her parents abuse her. Her parents are now away from her and probley will go to jail. I'm going to adopt her. Right now she is very sick. She just had surgery a 3 days ago. Today was the first time she woke up. When she woke up she was screaming and crying because she had a bad dream about her parents. She gets these bad dreams alot. I don't know how to calm her down. Sometimes I tell her stories or rub her back or hold her hand and talk to her while she sleeps or I sleep in bed with her but she is still so scared. She also acts like she is 4 and she clings to me. If I have to leave her hospital room to go get something to eat or if I have to go to the bathroom or if I even let go of her hand while she is sleeping so that I can do some work from my laptop....
