I work full-time as an LPN. I am getting married this year to my fiance of 6 years. We plan on starting a family within he next few years. I would love to be able to stay home with my child while they are young. All of our family lives 2-3 hours away and I don't feel comfortable leaving my child with a stranger. Especially when the child is too little to speak up if something isn't going right. Do you have any suggestions on how to make money as a stay at home mom or what has worked for you if you are a stay at home mom. Thank you!

The kids don't listen to a word I say but their rooms are a tip, I am cleaning up downstairs and the sun is cracking the flags outside. Because I have made a point of us all tidying up would I be daft to not carry on or should I give us all a break and pack in for the day??

My unborn son's father is now threatening to work a minimum wage job as means of spiting me because things are not working out between us. He currently makes decent money as a truck driver. Is it legal for him to quit and work a low wage job so that when child support gets assessed he will be ordered to pay much less? What makes this worse is that this was a planned pregnancy and somehow the pregnancy seems to have ruined our relationship.

Also, is there a minimum amout someone must pay each month? What if they don't even have a job? is a child support order still made?

And if you care to answer, why do some men feel so bitter about child support? It's as if they believe they are going to be the sole provider. Do they not recongize that child care alone is about $800 or more a month, not to mention all the other expenses and the average working class man pays something around $400? That leaves the bulk of the support paid by the mother. Lack of control maybe?

Guess what? Little 5 yr olds don't normally like to shop for adult clothes for hours on end. They often get fussy, scream and cry. People know this when they leave the house. Why should I have to put up with their crying?

My 15 yr old son is doing a so-so job in high school. He's a freshman, and in my town, 9th grade is in its own building but on the same property as grades 10-12. Grade 9 is still treated more like middle school students than high schoolers. He's a very smart kid and knows it, but just simply doesn't do the work. There's a private school down the road for grades 6-12 that my husband i gave each of our children a option of attending. It's a great school with small classes and hands on teachers. Only my 12yr daughter choose to attend and she LOVES it. I think my son would do much better in this private school enviorment next year rather than the public high school. I have a daugher who is a junior in this public high school who struggled last year. I don't want to go through that again with my son.
I don't know if i should just say to my son "Bradin youre going to this school next year" or wait until October and see how he does in the 10th grade. Maybe he'll start working?

My Exwife has let my 13yo daughter lie about her age to be able to have a MySpace page.We had a HUGE fight about it last nite and I can't make my ex realize that it has nothing to with the fact that the page has a private setting. The principal is that my daughter is learning that it is ok to lie.Is it true that I am just being an idealist and am blowing this out of proportion?

My husband and I recently had our son move out due to some things he was doing that we did not approve of. He was literally doing things that could have put my family in danger, so we thought it was best for him to leave. I took his car away from him since I bought it and was hoping that one day he'd straighten out so I could give it back to him. So he's currently riding public transportation. Today he is suppose to come over and pay me for his portion of the cell phone bill. I called him several days ago to say it was due, so he knew. A little while ago he calls and starts yelling at me asking why I won't let him send cash through the mail for his bill because he doesn't want to take the bus to my neighborhood. I told him that this was his decision to live the live he's living and I'd shut off the phone if he doesn't pay today. Should I hold off on selling the car or just put it up for sale? I'm tired of his crap and he doesn't seem like he's learning anything by being gone.

Why are women always crying about Child Support? In my opinion it takes two people to make a child, and TWO people to support a child. If anything it's more a responsibility for a woman to MAKE SURE she takes care of herself so that she don't end up pregnant. If the dad leaves, oh well your better off without him, your child doesn't need that kind of person in his life anyway. Why can't women have more confidence in themselves to make a life for themselves and their children without relying on a man to give her "Child Support"?

My husband's brother and sister-in-law desperately want to babysit our new son (he's 8 weeks). However, I completely disagree with how they are raising their own children and do not want my child around that (i.e. giving their INFANTS soda, letting their children destroy their house, having no rules, letting 8,9 year olds carry and toss around INFANTS, etc). His sister-in-law has offered to come to our house to watch our son, but I know she will bring her kids and whenever they are here I am the one parenting them not her, just to avoid my own house being destroyed. The biggest problem is that my husband and his family are native spanish speakers and I DO want my son exposed to as much spanish as possible, but how do I tell them they can either babysit at our house WITHOUT their children, or not at all?? We don't want to create any family issues. Please help!

I am a woman with children. I believe you have to do what you have to do to support your children of course and that should always come first but lets say your family has all the money it will ever need to do so and money was no object, would you want to be home with your children? How important is it that moms are there for their kids? Your honest opinions! I respect everyones opinions. Try to anyway LOL

I get so aggravated that my friend doesn't encourage her daughter to go outside and play like she does her son. They are twins and are four years old. They have a swing set and a big trampoline outside. When the son goes out to play her daughter is talking on her toy phone, and taking care of a baby doll. ONce I went over there and I watch her daughter spend a bright, sunny and warm day in the house playing mommy. She made breakfast for her dolls, dressed them, dresed herself, put on makeup, cleaned with a toy vacuum, washed clothes in a toy washer, etc... and my friend doesn't see anything wrong with it. The way I see it girls usually mature fast anyway, why not encourage her to enjoy her childhood by exploring things other than what mom does all day. Its really not my place but I would not raise my daughter like that. I don't think she is a bad mother but stuff like that bothers me. how do you feel about this?

My son came in from playing one time when he was about 11 and said "Mom, what's a brothel??" LOL I asked him where he heard it and he said on TV.......so I just very bluntly told him what it is and that seemed to satisfy his curiosity. Any funny stories??
