While many teenagers complain about their mothers with no real reason for it (aside from simply being teenagers and thinking that the world should revolve around them!!), not everyone has/had a loving mother. I can count myself among those who does not miss her mother. I won't go into too much detail... I think it's enough to say that I don't miss anything about my mother when she and I don't speak or see each other (like now).
I do, however, have an incredibly loving mother-in-law (though she can be a pain in the tush!). I am very grateful for such a wonderful woman that I blessed to be able to call, "Mom".

YOu know, when I was a teen I always complained about my mom. I never got along with her and did so many bad things to her. I'm not 24 years old and I have a little girl and a boy on the way and I appreciate my mom more than ever. She is my hero and there is no person that I look up to in this world more than her. She is my rock. I love her so much and I regret everything that I ever did to her. I guess when I look at my daughter and feel how much love I have for her, I understand how much my mom loved me and why she was so hard on me. She just wanted to always protect me.

Teens complain about their mothers because they are trying to establish their own identities as adults. Once they are adults, they realize everything their mom did and still does for them and they begin appreciating it.
I'm 28 years old, and I see my mom almost every day. We watch a lot of the same shows and sometimes go shopping together. Even though I'm capable of paying for my own stuff, she still will buy me stuff when I'm with her, but that's not why I go.
I know i've had a loving mother my whole life, and I hope that I am able to do the same for mine.

Teens complain about their mothers, fathers, uncles, grandparents, their clothing, hair, etc...basically, it's just what teens do. When they grow up, they usually grow out of it. And yes, I AM glad I have loving parents, even at 29, I appreciate them, especially since I've become a parent myself!

I never could understand how someone could have any complaints about a mother who loves them. I love mine so much, and haven't ever said no to anything she ever needed, or wanted. I owe her more than I can ever repay her, which is why when she borrows something, such as money, I have never, and will never accept it back. I OWE HER TOO MUCH TO DO SO!!

Not everyone had or has a loving mother. It is good that you do and appreciate her. I do but some people are not lucky enough to have one. I feel sad for those people.

Some mothers aren't so loving as you seem to remember yours as being.
