I went to a summer camp in Michigan I remember the name being camp Oakland but I dont really know it that was the real name.
I loved it. I went two years in a row and had the best time. I was 9 and 10.
We went hiking and did crafts. I made a candle that I still have, Im 37. we had dances and a haunted house one night that I didnt go in cause I was afraid but there were other girls that didnot go in so I had company..
I remember on one of the hikes we went on we were looking for Winnie the Pooh's house, (remember I was 9) we couldn't find it so we left him letters by a tree that we knew he would come by. The next day Winnie left us letters from him on our bunks. It was the best thing in the world.
My daughter went to a camp in Three rivers or Three oaks, She loved it. None of then cabins had air conditioning and they did the same things ever year but she LOVED it and went up until she could'nt go any more when she turned 15.

I'm not a parent, sorry, but as a child I attended girlscout camp twice and I was assistant teacher during a church retreat &counselor 2 years ago for 2 weeks in Calif locally at a place called Pilgrim Pines. It seems to me that for the money you spend, your child/children should get something more out of attending away-from-home-camp other than improved sport skills and a tan and/or bug bites and stories about "wild" animals.
Not that these camps you've already had them attend weren't first rate established programs, but my opinion if you are a family of faith then there is nothing greater than nurturing that faith during summertime with "church" based, Scouting or YMCA camps where there are similar character values included in the programming. Even if you aren't involved in church, many of these camps make the values program easy so your youngsters don't feel preached at, but they still feel good at the end of the day.
Anyway, I hope they have fun this summer wherever you end up sending them!

My 2 kids who are teens (13 and 15). They both went to a camp last summer called camp artaban.
Its excellent because there is full supervision and the supervisers will NOT let the kids outside without them already slathered in sunscreen.
Good protection so Its a good camp

do not concern. The left is sturdy at spouting radical rhetoric, yet while it includes survival of the fittest the Left will continually lose. The left is emotionally vulnerable, even fragile. they're additionally bodily vulnerable and unable to bear hassle. If the US is attacked by using terrorists because of the ridiculously vulnerable character Obama and the left is projecting to the terrorists, the liberals would be unwilling or unable to combat them. subsequently, the liberals will then grow to be extinct. the human beings on the best... (i like that be conscious "ideal. i think of that's a demonstration from the universe )... will survive to combat yet another day and to take back the U.S.
