Recently I've been shopping for our daughter to be.We also have a 2 year old.As I walked through the mall looking at clothes for the 2 of them I noticed that all the clothes I saw should have been for adults. As I was looking at some shirts a young girl (about 10 or so) came out of the dressing room almost in tears. Her mother asked her what was wrong and she told her "I'm fat and the boys don't like fat girls".I couldn't believe what I was hearing!!This girl looked like she was about 100lbs.How can she think she's fat?

As I looked around in other stores I found tube tops, short skirts, and high heels for kids. Shouldn't our children be able to enjoy being young and not worry so much about how they look? When I was 10 all I wanted to do was climb trees.Has our society really made our children grow up before their physically, mentally and emotionally ready?

I have a Step-Daughter who is 4 years old. She loves her "Father" to death! But she never see him. He calls maybe 1-3 times a week, and maybe see her once a month. I believe she's too young to understand that I'm her Step-Father. Does anyone know why she's so loyal to him, even though he's never in her life.

PS. He was never in her life to the point where they lived under the same roof. I have been more of a Father to her then him, and I have hatred in my heart towards him because he's not doing his job she loves him so much. What should I do?

I was outside talking to one of my neighbors (My husband was at work, son at school) well there were some kids outside playing (3-4 years olds) and all of a sudden a girl that lives out from me was walking towards us holding to a kids hand (Boy, 3 yrs) and asked my other neighbor was that her grandson and she said yes.

The girl said there was a man that had the little boy almost in his truck until she hollered at him and he set him back down and she ran to get him. She seen what color truck it was but the grandma and the girl that seen this did not even bother to call the law. (I did but they will not do anything cause i didn't see anything)
All the grandma said to the boy was you know you are not suppose to talk to strangers. Where i lived is a gated community and there is an alley below us and that is where that man was that tried to take that kid.
Even when that child's mom came to get him and heard that she said your going to get a whipping. How dumb you know. Thoughts?

I just started work last week and my mother-in-law takes care of our 3 month old. She's very nurturing and loves taking care of him. I feel like I'm already loosing the bond i had w/ him before i started working and it's shifting to his grandma. He's not a very expressive child, but when i come home from work he doesn't seem happy to see me or even seem to recognize me :( I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this and how it has effected your relationship w/ your children now? In the future, is he going to think "my grandma raised me because my mother worked"? Do any of you who had both parents that worked and were mostly w/ another relative when you were younger think that now?

Please, no mean answers. I feel guilty enough as it is about working. But if i'm overthinking it, please let me know.

I'm concerned that my brother and his wife are abusing their children. First off, they fight all the time and use profanity in front of their three small children (18 months, 5 & 6). They tend to handle the children very rough, even the way she plays with the kids is very rough. Often he disconnects, just gets on the computer and smokes. Recently, they had a physical fight (not the first time) in front of the children. They have been to counseling before but are far from being "healed" and have no plans I know of to go back.

I realize the kids are in a bad, abusive situation. I realize something has to be done, but I know if action (i.e. Chidren's Services) is taken and the kids are taken away it could result in foster care, and that could be its own nightmare. But if I report them and my family finds out, it could cause some major rifts. I'm just looking for some advice right now. Thank you.

I have already spent $5,000 in lawyer fees and we haven't even been to court yet. We were not married, dated a VERY short time. The DNA test was paid by the father. Where is all my money going? Is it standard for an attorney to charge $215 an hour? She charges for every phone call, every email, etc.

Ok.....well lets see I am a 28 year old single mother with two boys (9 and 5) that I feel like I have no time for. I have two jobs and I am a full time student in college and I can't find the energy to play with my kids. Am I doing to much? Every thing I do is for my kids I want them to be able to go to a good college and make something out of there life. I want my boys to look up to me. But the biggest problem is.... How do I get the energy to play with my boys? They mean the world to me but I have no time for them. HELP!!!!!!!
