I have a friend who's son's name is Jasper and he loves his name!! It shouldn't matter what other people say.It only matter's how the name makes you feel.My real name is Miresa.Not Merissa.It's said Meer~ee~sa.My mom didn't think about how people would make fun of it or how many times a day they'd say it wrong,she liked it.And so do I.Stop worrying about it.Jasper is a great name.

I like it. It's not too common.
According to Rebbenu Bachya, the word Yasfeh in the verse Exodus 28:20 means jasper and was the stone on the Ephod representing the tribe of Benjamin.
It is described in the Book of Revelation (21:11) as follows: "It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal."

I don't know about naming your child that....I have a cat named Jasper. But now days you can pretty much name your kid anything and expect somebody to have a even weirder name!

I knew a guy last year in school named Jasper.....we all made fun of him but not because his name but rather because of who he is......although I remember only 1 insult directed at his name my other friend kept calling him Jaspinian lol

If I went to school with a guy named Jasper, I would have teased him endlessly. If I worked with a guy named Jasper, I'd tease him endlessly. If I was in an old folks home with a guy names Jasper, I'd tease him endlessly.

this boy was names jasper in my bros class n they make fun of his name all the time.. i dont know if its a funny name to kids or its funny cas we have an air condtioning company names jasper...but if it was me i would not name my kid that... but its up 2 u... and good luck
