Today my mother told me that my sister called the police on her daughter's father. I grew up being molested, so it hurt really bad. When I went to see my niece I asked my sister why they were taking my niece to the hospital and she said no reason. Why didn't my sister tell me this?? What can I do? I'm suppose to not know...I can't believe this is happening..What can I do?

Also, I don't know why my niece was with her father, my sister has sole custody of her children, because his home was a safety and health hazard and he is an alcoholic/ drunk driver

I have been there too. Kudos to you for being a survivor! I think those people are disgusting. I was her age as well. That is too bad. All you can do is be there for her to talk to her when she is older. There isn't much for you to do right now because she doesn't understand and or is scared. With all of that is going on right now. Maybe your sister didn't want to tell you because she didn't want to bring memories up for you that aren't pleasant. Don't get mad at her, she is trying to be there for her little one. I can't believe it is happening either but I am thinking of your family right now. Be there for everyone and hopefully it will help the two of you to heal together. Good luck

Really a kid at a young age like that really doesn't know that it's molestation. Maybe your sister was just trying to keep it on the low down. They probably didn't want that many people knowing. Right now you just need to be there for your family and especially your niece. Just try to spend as much time possible with your niece and make her feel loved but don't make her feel uncomfortable. If she asks questions about her father its best for a child at her age just to know that her daddy is going to be away for a while. Don't come out and tell her that she can't see her dad because he's in jail. At the age of 4 a lot of kids now a days know what jail is. Since you also know what your niece is going through then you can help with the process of recovering from being molested. Just really be there for her right now.

Maybe she is waiting for the hospital exam & police inverstigation to be concluded before upsetting you.
A 4 yr old can not tell you so the exam would be important & the police will identify the who did it Good luck & God bless your family in this time of trial.

Maybe they're trying to help you. Maybe she figured it would be too hard on you. You should wait until your sister gets through some of the more immediate stress and then discuss why she choose not to tell you. Maybe she just doesn't want everybody(even though you're her sister) to know. Sometimes, this kind of thing can be embarassing. Maybe she's having her own guilt issues.

I cannot believe that you are airing out your dirty laundry in public. If you have any sense at all you would know what to do. Not coming on to Answers and asking a bunch of STRANGERS a question like this. Unless this is an attention getter.........Seems to me like you are....You cant believe this is happening so your going to come to Yahoo Answers and let EVERYONE ELSE know......but YOUR not suppose to know. WOW I'm glad your not my family. You cant even keep a secret!!!!
