my son wanted me to be truthfull about everything and i wanted to have a clean slate with him, he was just a mistake from a night of passion and i think that i should tell him that, we had him at 16 years old and the condom broke. i even tried to sue the condom company!!! i told him i wanted to put him up for adoption, because with my new ferrarri and with my new hdtv i cant afford to keep him around, so he asked me to be honest on why i was putting him up for adoption, so i want to tell him, how should i tell him should i be outfront about it?

I'm 18. I still can't go to sleep with the lights on. Last night, I tried going to sleep without the light, and I slept for 3 hours because I kept waking up shocked and scared.

How do I stop this? Should I keep continuing sleeping in the dark until I get used to it?

My husband and I married when she was 6. She and I were all alone, fending for ourselves before then and were extremely close. Now I have 2 other children ages 3 & 4. They worship her and she loves them, but in the last year or so I feel really disconnected from her. She hangs out with friendsand has school, I'm in school and work as well. What can I do to get that closeness back? Keep in mind there are only 24 hours in the day and i have so much that i am responsible for.

My husband and I are planning a summer trip for our family of 6 (4 yr old twins, 6 yr old and 7 yr old) and we are leaning on the Sea World in Ohio. Has any one been here and or has a over all rating about the park? Such as if its worth the enterance fee? I found their web site but I am hopeing to hear what others felt about the park. Has any one took a family vacation with children in this age group to ANY theme park, zoo or location that the kids loved that you feel is worth to travel to? We live in Michigan but because it is a family vacation we do not care about the mileage, we just want the kids to have a good experience. Thank you in advance!!

My son has recently become "always hungry". He isn't a fruit and vege lover. I'd need some ideas of healhty snacks. Either already store made foods or snacks I can mix together. Any crackers or cookies that are low fat yet tasty. Somthing I can through together fast. Or put together and put in my purse if I have to pick him at up at school and go somewhere for awhile.

I'll looking not just for the usual snack ideas but for some unusual ones. Are there things that your children like to nibble on that other kids don't like?

Thanks for your suggestions!

Her name is Arina, she is 7. It is very beatiful russian name (named after Pushkin's nurse, her name was Arina), but I found after we came to Canada that it sounds very similar to "arena". I need an advice from people who grew up here if I need to change my daughter's name let's say to Ariana?
She is a nice and bright girl, speaks three languages(English, French, Russian) and I want her to have a happy childhood and future.

My daughter is 3 months old. Since this is my first child I want to do all the usual things that first-time parents do, like buy her lots of fun baby toys, clothes, mother and daughter and father and daughter things, etc. His kids from a previous marriage live with us and I don't want to create any jealously between mine and his but I feel like I am being cheated of being a first time Mom if I cannot do these things and more for my firstborn. Am I being paranoid or is it really something that I should be worrying about?

She has worked very hard to change her life and her styles for the better. She divorced her abusive husband, moved to a new home that is clean and safe, gotten counseling, joined and faithfully committed to a church, taken parenting classes and courses and is feeling good about herself and her new life. While they are in state custody she has had visits with them twice per week, sets up and attends all their Dr appointments and dental appointments. She has come such a long way and done so much. I don't think its a show I think she really has learned a lesson in life.
Court is today to determine if she should get her kids back or if the state should put them up for adoption. The state wants them to go up for adoption. I have known her since she was 17 and she is 27 now. I believe she is true to her word and her hard work. What should I say in court today to help but not overdo anything?

I asked this question before but it was slightly different. I am writing a newspaper article about what it's like for a teen mother to take care of kids and go to school. If you are in this boat, tell me what was the most difficult thing for you, what was the worst thing about doing both, and what was the most rewarding. Add anything else that you would like. Thanks alot *Jessi* P.s. I am a mom too, I am still pregnant and Its not due until July, So I will be graduated before its born, But I want to show the world what its like for you, and let them know its no piece of cake.

I realize there are a lot of opinions out there. I let my baby cry because she almost always goes back to sleep. I don't do it because I don't want to be a mother or take care of my children. I do it because I believe she is going to have to learn to soothe herself because I may not always be there. If she gets used to me picking her up at each little whimper, she's going to depend on me to be able to fall asleep - which I believe is putting her at a detriment. so bring on your opinions because I'd like to hear a rational thought on this subject other than you think a parent who doesn't pick up their child at the first whimper is some how bad.

i just want to know how the other members of yahoo answer define a good and supporting parent..whenever we talk about parent who successful in nurturing their children, what characters that appears in our mind about that parent..is it a parent who always like to yell at their children whenever they did wrong things or a parent who talk to them slowly and make them comfortable instead of going mad..is it a parent who support their children to achieve what they want till the end of their life or a parent who just let them to work hard on their own without showing any support..is it a parent who compeletely trust on their children's capability of doing and experiencing new things or a parent who like to look down and underestimate of what their children are capable of..i ask you this because sometimes it does happens to me..so i need your help to define a good and supporting parents from your own view..
