I get that feeling from time to time.

Even if I act on it and go visit them, it never fails, they're never happy, and I just end up leaving, scolding myself for ever visiting (yet again) in the first place.

When my daughter was born my husband quit his job to stay at home with her. He quit because my salary as a teacher was higher, and if we had both continued working his whole check would have gone toward daycare anyway, so we both felt that it was better for her to be at home with him and not exposed to the typical baby sicknesses that run rampant at daycares.

She is 11 months old now, and loves her daddy to pieces. She loves me too, obviously, but seems to prefer him and I can understand why - he has more time to give her.

Someone once told me that babies get to an age where they have a "preferred parent". They said that the preferred parent tends to be the one who is absent the most.

My question is this. Have any of you noticed this to be true? I know it sounds really, really petty and I should be glad that she is at home with her daddy who loves her, but I can't help being a little bit jealous of the time that he has with her. I'm glad she loves us both, but...

My 1 year old has been sick a lot lately with colds, ear and sinus infections. My boss now wants to cut my hours from 40 down to 32. Is he right to do this? Is it legal for him to cut my hours because of my child being sick and me not being able to take him to daycare? Please help!

Have you ever been standing in line at the grocery store worrying if you have enough money to purchase the food for the week and had the lady in front of you who's carrying a Louis Vouiton purse and wearing gold chains and diamond rings and carrying a cell phone and keys to a Lexus pay for her groceries with food stamps? How did it make you feel?

Ok so in the week there are playgroups and nurseries and stuff or you might even be at work, but what do you do at the weekend? Especially if you don't have a car.

My boyfriends best friend and his wife had a kid 5 months ago. A little girl. She's a really cute baby and was sweet for the first 2 months, but then the crying started and hasn't stopped for 3 months. It's colic I know.

Well the colic is driving the mother insane just about. She has tried everything, and has had just about no sleep because her hubby is a jerk generally and doesn't deal with the crying at all.

Well she found out if she squirts water in the babies face she stops crying for a good hour for some reason.

My kneejerk reaction is that this is cruel.

But I don't really know. It doesn't seem to hurt the baby but I don't know what this could affect with the whole bond thing.. Of course if the baby is always crying what will that do to the bond..

Anyway, do you think this is cruel, and if so what should I do?

And do you have anything else I can suggest to her that she probably hasn't tried? (She's tried a lot of things!)

Someone called CPS on her because she didn't clean her house EVER. There was dog poop on the floor and everything. I know these are bad conditions, but how come CPS reacted so fast to this, and they took her children and this I applaud.
Now I live in San Antonio and there was a horrible tragedy that happened last week. A young mother murdered her 1y/o and 4 month old babies. She stuffed them in a trash bag and put them under the house FOR A MONTH. CPS was called on this woman to NUMEROUS times...But the children remained with her. And she knocked her one year olds teeth in and bruised the babies body badly.
This is where the irony comes to play. My cousin's kids are white and the babies that were murdered were mexican. Could CPS want to protect white children more than hispanic or black?
Is there some sort of sick thing that whites should be protected more that minorities? It sickens me.

My ex left when my daughter was 1.5. I didn't know where he was for months and only found out because he committed a horrible crime and is in prison now for a very long time. Shortly after my daughter turned 2, I met a new man that I've been with since. My daughter calls him daddy and loves him and his daughter. We plan to married next year. I've not mentioned my daughter's father to her and waited for her to ask me. Today she did and I was truthful. I told her he was sick and could not be a real daddy to her, but loved her very much. I told her he'd hurt some people and had to go away for a long time. She asked if he was in jail and I said yes. She now wants to write him and wants us back together. She insists she loves him, remembers him, and misses him. She was angry that I found someone new and doesn't want me to get married. She's almost 5. I explained I would never get back with him and she wouldn't see him until she was grown. Her heart is broken. What do I do now?

ok, when you have sex, without protection, you can become pregnant unless you are bearin.

why oh why do people keep having children if they don't want them??

yes, i see other races that do this and talk to their children hateful. but why keep having so many? is birth control too expensive? why do women who BARELY MAKE ENDS MEET, HAVE MORE KIDS??

I felt sorry for the young boy that was called a dumba$$ by his mother. shame shame.

People tell me I put my kids to bed too early.
My daughter is 5 and in half day kindergarten and on school nights her bed time is 7:30. My son is 2 and I put him to bed the same time.
On weekends I will let them stay up a little later but they are both usually in bed by 8:30.

They both have been good sleepers even when they were babies sleeping about 10-12 hrs a night.

What time does everyone else put their lil ones to bed.

Hubby and I were at the hospital visiting a family member, and outside in the parking lot was an african american woman who was yelling at her child calling him a "dumba$$". And she was hateful and loud about it. I mean, do you really onl think of your children as welfare checks? How come when you see african american women with so many kids, they talk to them so hateful. Are these children really just a check to them?

Get a freakin job for pete's sake rather than drown the working class with your 12 kids whom you seem to hate. Sheesh
