I believe a good parent is some one who is always there for you. A good parent will not try to put you to shame for what you do, but let you fall and learn from your own mistakes. However is there to give a lending hand if asked. A great parent will show you how to make the right decisions when you are younger so that you will have the tools to make the right decsions when you are older.
A suportive parent will not only tell you how to be good person but be a great role model by his or her lifestyle and the actions he or she may make. Hugs, and kisses are great. That kiss to make everything alll better and put the smile back on a face. A great parent is all that and more.

This is a very good question. I am very interested to see what others have to say.

I would say that a good supportive parent is someone who will encourage you to go for your dreams no matter what they are, and support you no matter what. Someone who will not judge there child and will be there for them, and help the to succeed in any way they can, while letting them work hard to acomplish whatever it is they are out to do.

its all about balance. you have to give as much affection as you do discipline. Teach you r children and give them an opportunity to prove themselves. If mistakes occur make them a learning experience instead of a black mark on their lives. Listen. Listening is not waiting for your turn to talk, really listen to your child the more you listen the more they are likely to confide in you. Don't judge, let them know how you feel about actions and behavior but allow them to be who they are.

A good parent is your biggest fan - they are someone who loves you unconditionally - they are someone who loves you enough to correct you, and discipline you, when necessary.
