My husband and I are planning a summer trip for our family of 6 (4 yr old twins, 6 yr old and 7 yr old) and we are leaning on the Sea World in Ohio. Has any one been here and or has a over all rating about the park? Such as if its worth the enterance fee? I found their web site but I am hopeing to hear what others felt about the park. Has any one took a family vacation with children in this age group to ANY theme park, zoo or location that the kids loved that you feel is worth to travel to? We live in Michigan but because it is a family vacation we do not care about the mileage, we just want the kids to have a good experience. Thank you in advance!!

Thank you every one for all the wonderful ideas! I never thought of going to Canada with the family, and I looked into the Hersey Park. It looks like a very clean, fun park! I'll keep that one in mind for mabe next years trip. We camp out a few times a year and the kids love it! I also want to thank the posters that mentioned the waiting lines..All I want is to be standing around for a hour waiting for the show to begin and the whole time hear the kids ask "is it starting yet?" lol. It was hard picking a best answer becuase after I checked into each place you all listed I could see why you said "go here" If only summer vaccation lasted a few weeks longer!! Again, thank you for the advice!

Wolf Lodge and King's Island amusement park in Ohio. There's Newport Aquarium not far from there then 3-4 hours from there is Holiday World Amusement park-VERY VERY VERY clean and nice park. Absolutely family oriented and free pepsi/sodas unlimited. Then Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville which is only about an hour and half from Holiday World. and the Lousiville Zoo. Have Fun

we did the 'disney, sea world' trip with our kids when they were 2 months/3 years/5 years.... they loved the disney day at disney world... we packed lunches and they didnt even seem to wanna stop to eat!

the next day we did sea world... there is so much 'waiting' between shows that they seemed to be bored 1/2 the time.... you see a show, walk to the next arena and wait... etc.

Kids that age like change and entertainment... I think they would like an amusement park more, but that is my kids anyway. I havent been to the Ohio sea world.... so it could be different... just know that my kids remember NOTHING about that vacation...

they more remember florida on the beach and at disney.

Think about Alberta, in Ohio you're almost half way , We share an international wild life preserve with Montana.(Waterton park) Writing on stone is on our south border. Banf national park, Calgary zoo+ Stampede, Drumheler Dinosaur park+++. We love the American people and the exchange rate makes it less expensive than you would expect. How many kids get to go to another country for vacation.( we still let Americans across our border with their birth certificates).
Have fun where ever you go!!!

The zoo. I know some zoos do special events such as "camping with the critters", which is a campout at the zoo with animal shows, feedings, all sorts of activities and behind the scenes.

What ever you decide with that many people I would recommend getting a suite with -2- rooms connected......

To make a great vacation be prepared: Pack the right things from home. Sunscreen and bug spray a must!!!
Everyone bring their own...."Pillow" and all will sleep better!
