Here in Australia we have NO CLUE. And the penalties for such crimes are getting ridiculous. They'd be lucky to get 10 years in prison.
Australia seems to copy so much about your culture! I really wish this was one aspect that was emulated.
Have you ever received such a notification? How did you react? Did it change your normal behaviour?

ok my daughter will be 8 next months and just this past weekend we had to put her cat down do to a health problem, today she told her teacher that her cat was playing with her sister now and that he (the cat) would be ok now.

so i asked her about it when she got home and she said that same thing that he was playing with her sister and that even though she has never seen her she know that she is there.

i dont know what to tell her becasue she was a twin and i lost one at only 9 weeks along, could she really know that i was carrying twins?

I have fraternal twin boys who are 16 months old right now and I am almost 33 weeks pregnant with another baby boy. My boyfriend works everyday and I am the one that has to sit and take care of them and I do my best but they seem to get bored playing with each other and I dont know what else to do, I cant let them run around everywhere and chase after them right now, I just dont have the energy. How do I keep them entertained without having to chase after them all day long?

I just read yet another news story of a mother deliberately killing her young children. She threw them into the San Fransico Bay and let them drown. That stupid Frak!!! She was supposedly in a mental institution several times for a year straight and even Her mother warned social workers that the kids were in danger. WHERE THE HELL ARE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO PROTECT CHILDREN? WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY DOING? WHY DID THEY LET THIS WOMAN KEEP HER CHILDREN!!!! WHY DIDN'T ANYONE WALKING BY STOP HER????? I am trying so hard to stop the tears, this is just terrible, is there any good left in this world, is there any hope? I look at my own 17 month old beautiful baby girl and pray that the world will be a little better of a place when she's old enough to understand what heart ache is.

My son's father is "exploring" joint custody. We were never married. He has not been overly involved in his son's life and I have NEVER kept him out. He is supposed to be paying child support but is often behind. We went to court previously and he was given a parenting schedule, which he followed for about two months.
First let me say he can keep the money if he'll drop this mess. I started the court stuff to get him MORE involved and have him accept some responsibility, but that hasn't happened. I told him then I'd be happy to drop it, but he said I started it, so he'd finish it. Lovely.
Personally I don't see how joint custody is a good thing for a child. That's what I'd like to know from you if you have personal knowledge. Does it work? What kinds of problems are there? Good things? I want what's best for my son.

**I asked this earlier, but want to hear from evening Yahoo people, too, so if you saw it before and answered, thank you! I want to get as much feedback as I can.**

I was just wondering, if you adopt a child, should you tell them that you adopted them and your no their real parent, or should you just keep it a secret? I know i should choose myself, but what is better? I guess if the child found out to late in life it could hurt the child permantly..

Let me start off by saying that my daughter does get mommy and me time. I do things with her soI know it is not a problem of attension.
My daughter will be 5 in may. She goes to pre school and they say she is a sweet little girl. When she goes to her grandparents she is also really good.
It seems like she only acts up for me and her dad.
She does not listen to me at all her newest thing is to yell and tell me to shut up.
When I take her out and about like to the drs or store she runs all over the place.
I know I am getting more and more stressed each day.
I have tried everything to from time out for 4 -5 mins to reward charts when she is good, and nothing seems to be working.
Any suggestions are helpful and please no rude answers.

I am considering one of these inflatable portable beds for my 20 month old. She can climb out of the pack n play now, so I figure she's ready for it. The box says ages 3 and up. I dont think anything would happen at her age, what do you think?

When I am older I want to have a big family, like 5 or 6 children. Do you think that it is unsafe for your body to have that many kids? I really love children and I hope I can have a big family!!

instead of lying them on a table with nurses and mom looming over them. That way in my opinion I can turn them around immediately and have them in my arms comforting them. Not to mention the comfort of being in moms arms thru the whole thing.

I was wondering how many other moms do the same thing?

What are your rules when it comes to your children eating meals? My daugher who will be 10 in a month is a very picky eater. My rules are:

1. she eats what we are having for dinner and she has to try everything
2. If I put the food on her plate, she doesnt have to eat everything on her plate but she cant have anything else until the next meal if she doesnt eat everything
3. If she puts the food, she has to eat everything

When we go to my soon to be mother in laws house she makes my daughter eat everything even if she says she is full and someone else put the food on her plate. I dont like that because I think it encourages unhealthy eating habits. My parents had the same rules I have and we all turned out to be healthy average weight kids and adults and my soon to be mother in law has an overweight daughter that she made eat everything on her plate. I was wondering what other parents do as far as their children eating meals go.
