I just found out that I am pregnant. I have been cramping a lot and my other children want me to pick them up all the time. I just tell them I can't because I don't feel good. They are 3 & 4. I want to tell them, but I would hate to end up having a miscarriage and then have to explain that. but I don't think I can go for 3mo explaining away why I can't do things. And I don't want them finding out from someone else either. I can't decide what to do. Someone decide for me. :(

My son is 18 months and still is very attached to his pacifier. He only uses it at nap/bed time. His bottom front teeth are starting to get a bit crooked, so I no longer gve it to him.

How can I get him to sleep without it? He gets so wrestless and cranky and won't fall asleep. He sleeps in a toddler bed. If I give him the pacifier, he goes right out! Help, please. Thanks!!!

I'm a single mother of cuadruplets(4 girls). They are 5 years old, names R,H,K and S.I have sent R and H to school since this year and I don't send K and S to school - I home-school them.I work from the PC at home and I have time to do that too.I make K and S have 50-minutes-long periods with 10-minutes-long breaks and 'school' is from 8:00h to 14:00h.Both of them also recieve 'homework' for after school time. They always get tired and sleep after that. When during 'school period' they decide to misbehave I spank them with a belt(just 3-4 times) and they already behave. They both don't learn well recently.Would it be better if I make the periods 60 minutes(1 hour) long each,or give them more homework? How would they learn better?

Names like Bonshiqua, Lewanda, Dejandre etc.. I think its wrong to burden children with these names as they will go through life with nobody knowing how to spell or pronounce their name and also insulted and ridiculed. Secondly, there is no basis for the existance of these names and if there is, the parents don't realize the historical context in which they were originally granted. Like Greek names given to slaves because the owners thought it would be funny to. Just my opinion, and another thing I hate about our narcissistic. material culture.

Hi my girlfriend is an babysitter/nanny. The kids she has are terribly behaved and are around 4 and 5 years of age. The parents were originally at fault but she is the one who takes care of them during the day. I tried to give her advice about being stricter but she said she has done that last 3 months and they don't change... any ideas how to fix this problem?

Its either... he gose on and on about wanting stuff, tells me he is going to do something instead of asking, nags, moans, and complains.. He is not a happy person unless he gets his way... MY GIRLS are not like that at all.... He is ADHD.......... he hates school and disrespects the teacher, he bullys kids, he faught with my husband (his step-father) and gave my husband bruises all over him..My husband loves him all he did was try to help him .. My husband just try to hold him down to keep him from hitting him.... WE are getting counseling.. But what can I do as a mother? I have tried telling him that I love him(I have always done that) I have tried spending time with him (he just complains, wants something, selfish) I tried hugging..(he pushes me away or is not sincere).. I want to apologize, but he darted out of the house. I told him he wasn't allowed to do any reading (a punishment for him, you understand), so I took the book when I caught him reading and whammed him hard across the head. He took off and he said he was telling his mother when she got back from work. I don't know what to do.

In this situation both parents were awarded Joint Legal Custudy; however, they did not arrange any specific days. And now it has become an issue where one parent/mother chooses to keep the kids at anytime and has them more often without mutual agreement of the other/father. How can the father go about having his days enforced equally?

I often see stay at home mom's say things like 'I want to raise my family, not a stranger' and complain that they are looked at as dumb or not given the respect they deserve by working parents. Why can't people accept the choices others have made for themselves and their families? My wife and I work and do the best we can for our kids. Our daycare is great. All of the teachers have early childhood development degrees. The kids are socialized, stimulated, happy, and loved. We have great relationships with the teachers. None of them are strangers to my family. Their degrees and experiences allow our kids to learn things that my wife and I are not trained on.

Kids are going to need to spend time away from their parents at one point or another. They either begin the education and socialization process at age 6 months or at age 5. Why do some stay at home moms knock people that work and want to provide the most opportunity and security for their kids?

My mother and mother-in-law both want to be called "grandma" by my 10 month daughter who is just learning to speak. I feel a little tension between them about it and I feel pressure by both of them to teach her to call them grandma...but I feel she will be confused if I call them both the same thing. Should I just go ahead and call them both grandma and let her choose her own names at some point? Any suggestions? What are some other good grandma names?

PLEASE! Need some info from those in this situation. My son's father wants joint custody (He has NEVER seen him on a regular basis - HIS CHOICE, and now, 6 1/2 years later?) I realize I'm selfish to want to keep my son with me, but I think he's selfish as well. My son likes security - he likes his routine - getting up an hour earlier for school, getting home an hour later, sleeping in different beds, all that good stuff - how is that good for a child? We had a parenting schedule (which he followed for about two months) 2 years ago (we never married), and he is consistently late paying child support and still owes arrears. If it's about the money, he can KEEP it, but he says my son doesn't know much about his "other" family. I'm pretty sure he'll throw in the cultural thing, too. I do what I can and my son and I talk about differences a lot.

Seriously, if you have good things to say about it, let me know, but I definitely want to hear about any issues. THANK YOU!

My last period was on around Dec 20 and finished almost by the end of the month. So then on Jan 7 & 9 I had sexual intercourse. Then yesterday the 16 also. I had been experiencing nausia, and somewhat not wanting to eat stuff and kind of like neck-ache and back aches. Overall, yesterday I thought I had gotten my period which my period wasn't due yet. It was something very very light, I had a pad on because normally when I get by the next day im on it. So, when I went to the bathroom i just cleaned myself, and Nothing I had nothing at all. What could this be?

She gets terribly constipated every few days. It is painful for her and she cries when she is trying to go. She has a milk allergy so she has been on soy milk since stopping formula. Has any one else had any experience with this? She is going to the dr tomorrow morning but I wondered if any other parents have any ideas.

I am 35 and live in the state of SC and in this state they seal adoption records. The kicker is that I have a full blooded brother that was born shortly after me, that I can not find or locate. How can the state have the right to deny me the knowledge of his location or the right to information on him. He did not make a choice to give me up. Historically speaking I think the records continue to be sealed due to people like Strom Thurmond, who have children, and want to keep it a secret. Has any one out there ever been through the process of fighting the state legislation. If you are adopted then how much information do you have regarding you bio parents.
