Our son who is 13 was in town with 3 of his friends last Saturday morning when they saw his geography teacher having a coffee in a restaurant..My son approached him to say say "hello Mr "so ans so" to which my son says he replied "Go away,,and leave me alone". He must have been concerned by his reaction, as are we, to mention this to us..My wife and I are confused to how to approach this...whether to forget about it and let it go?....have a meeting with the teacher concerned, How would you approach this situation?
Our son is very polite, confident, and popular at his school.

Let me start out by saying that my nephew has never been spanked.

My sister in law and her family went camping. On their way home they stopped at a Walmart to stretch their legs. My youngest nephew, (James, 4 years old) was screaming and misbehaving in the car. My sister in law stayed in the car with him while her husband took her older son into walmart. She opened the door of the car and stood outside while her son was throwing a fit. She wasn't looking at him or talking to him or anything. All of a sudden, he punched her in the face (remember, he was NEVER spanked). Her first reaction was to push his hand away. As she did this, she heard a HUMPH from a young couple two cars away. James immediately appologized and stopped screaming. My sister in law brought James into Walmart and realized the young couple was still watching her. She met up with her husband, told him what happened and jokingly said, "If the police are outside waiting for us, you'll know why."

Dr. Roselli's research on Gay sheep may one day provide parents the choice of ruling out homosexuality. Would you like to have that choice?

Any one know what they are? I know in Nebraska you cannot even spank your child on the behind with your hand or you can be sent to jail.

I mean, well i have a lot of thoughts about this.. but heres one example, not of thinking deeply, but just in general.. I showed my mum a picture of really alternative band, who i think have amazing style and taste, and she told me they looked ridiculous, and in 20 years time i'll think so too.. well dont you think it's better that i dont? and hopefully never will..? why would i want to be the average 40 year old women , clad in waterproof coat, sensible straight leg jeans, short masculin hair cut and mother of 3 children....?
and the worst part is, they're happy to be like that...just like everyone else.. which is what i really don't get...

he is much better now than he was 2 years ago, he is a very good sweet boy, but when he makes a mistake or does something he does not suppose to do, my husband gets very ungry; sometimes he tells him he has no brain, and others he starts yelling at me in from of him, like it is my fault. I have a 18 year old girl and a 5 year old boy, they are my life, I work every single day of my live to provide my family with everything; he does not have a good job, and sometimes i put that like an excuse. Once he told me that i do not know how to raise kids, that they will do whatever they want because I do not give them a consecuence; and I do, but not in the way he does; another time he left my son without tv and toys for a week, and if he gets uncover during the night (he has atshma) he draws a big red X on the wall next to his bed, so my son wakes up in the morning and the first thing he does is look at the wall, and if he finds the red X he gets really scared.I think this is to much to handl

live and they are terrible so i am going to try to change things around here. it is going to take alot of hard work and time on my part and if i can actually change this than i doubt i will be able to do it in time for my daughter to actually go to daycare but at least i might save some families from the horrible things that happen in the daycares where i live so i would like state ratios for liscenced daycares in your area to compare to what we have in florida which are (no infants i have yet to find a center that takes infants thank god cuz there ratios suck)
1 yearold's 10 kids to 1 care provider
2 year olds 12 to 1 CP
3 yearolds 14 to 1 CP
4 yearold 16 to 1 CP
etc so i have asked in the past what you thought about these ratios and you all overwhelming agreed with me this is not good so help with your state ratios so i can get the ball rolling please there have been kids in these centers that have brain damage serious burns and locked on busses also CP hired w/ no background

Bless Parents Who Drugged Us!

The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question, ''Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?''

I replied: I had a drug problem when I was young:

I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for weddings and funerals

I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather.

I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults.

I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.

I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profane four-letter word.

I was drug out to pull weeds in mom's garden and flower beds and cockleburs out of dad's fields.

I was drug to the homes of family, friends, and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothesline, or chop some firewood; and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed.

Those drugs are still in my veins; and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and, if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.

I am 17 and am in high school and college (college 2 years early, because of my birth date). With 6 overall classes. I am in 4-H on the county council, a jr leader in church on Sundays and Wednesday nights (Wednesdays nights I teach sometimes, but I am always a helper), I do a lot of community service work, am in 2 clubs at school including the college transfer club (we go visit other colleges for information. and the extreme players club (they do tournaments like pool, chess, checkers, volley ball, and bicycling.). And I am trying to get into the honors club (PTK).and that is just what I do OUTSIDE my home. When I get home from school every day I have to cook dinner (for the whole family of 6), do my older brother's and my own laundry, clean the kitchen, and clean any messes my younger siblings have made. Then start homework. I usually start doing homework at 10pm and finish at 3am. And I have to be up by 7 every day. Some Saturdays I get to sleep, but others I don’t and just have to

How do you feel about that California legislator trying to get a law against spanking our children? I believe its not the spanking that cause children to grow up and get into trouble, do drugs, break the law, etc. I don't spank my children, yet they are under the age of 2 and when they get older, we'll cross that bridge when we come ot it. I was spanked as a child and I dont go around causing mischief. I believe its the child itself that makes their own decisions. And how can they make it a law against it because no one will get caught unles they wre ratted out? They cant really make it a law when they are behind closed doors unless they were to install video cameras in every home with children. Im not saying I would spank my child, I didnt like it when I was young. I choose other forms of punishment, but if the times comes and nothing else works, I may have to. "Spare the rod, spoil the child"?

My problem is very complecated and please only competent answers, not scams.I have this friend(J)-widower with an 11yo daughter(R).This year R doesn't go to school because she is pregnant(now in 5th month). When I heard that I was like "WHAT?!How can R be pregnant! She's 11 a baby herself, where were you, what happened?!"And I heard that 2 weeks ago. After the shock I really tried to find out what happened. It turned out that when R misbehaves instead of spanking or time-out,J rapes her horribly(she described me how). That has been lasting already 2 years! She is scared and very ashamed of that and even though she is pregnant, she is still being raped when misbehaving.J locks her at home and there is no how she can run(I looked and didn't find a way).I'm planning on taking her out and going to the police and I need really helpful advice on how to avoid J understand what happened and just be arrested.Every advice is welcome.I have a way to unlock the door and just want to help the poor child.
