My husband and I have a Yahoo 360 website. It has our first and last names, but does not say where we live, not even the state we live in. It doesn't have any personal info like what we do for a living, and just includes our family pictures and info about where we went for holidays, nothing personal.

We are having a baby and I planned to put the baby's name on the website along with the baby pictures for our family.

Do you think this is safe? Do you have a website like this?

I'm just curious.
I have two kids, 2y/o and 11m/o, and i'm 21 weeks pregnant.
Just recently i found out that 6 doors down is a registered sex offender.
His profile read indecent exposure, rape of multiple children and abduction.
Why are these creeps even allowed back in neighborhoods where they are a threat to it's residents.
This neighborhood is riddled with kids and my ultimate fear, like any mothers is hearing of an abduction or even it being my own kids at his filthy hands.
Why do these people even have rights? Their victims didn't!
We worked so hard for this home, and i want my girls to all feel safe in playing in the yards and playing with friends, but how can that happen knowing there is a pervert in stones throw?

I ask this in Pareting for a parent's perspective.

Would it be right to petition for him to be evicted? (a neighbors idea)
I know he hasen't harmed me or my kids or anyone elses here YET! But he is a threat, shouldn't he be treated as such?

My son was born in March 06. I'm a stay at home mom and I only worked for 8 weeks, it wasn't two entire months because the month had extra days. I don't think I'll get anything back if I claim my son. My boyfriend thinks he should claim our son since he has worked more. We both have agreed to split the money. I don't think I will get anything back. Also, if my boyfriend claims him this year, will I be able to claim my son next year? Is it always best the mother claims her child even if she barely works?

I have three kids, 25 yo boy, 22 yo boy, 12 year old girl. I have never raised my voice to them, never spanked them, and never had any discipline problems at all. I treated them with love and respect from the moment they were born, and they have returned that respect by getting good grades, being nice and considerate, and keeping their rooms and appearances well cared for. I overhear ppl in stores yelling at their children all of the time, and the kids being rude right back. My daughter has a friend who got grounded just for not turning her pants right side out before she put them in the laundry basket! Another was punished for spilling her milk! Am I just truly blessed with wonderful children, or did calm, rational parenting make a difference? I just wonder why people chose to have children if all they are going to do is yell at them and be frustrated by their every move? would like some input.......

I live in the midwest, and I know I shouldn't be judgemental, but the way people raise their children around here aren't exactly up to snuff.
The only time I complain about it is when people put their children in harms way.
For instance: My biggest peeve is when parents leave their child unattended in a shopping basket or allow them to stand in the back of the basket while it is moving. Don't parents realize that the kid could fall and seriously hurt themselves or even suffer from brain damage?
I also have a friend who bites her daughter if the daughter bites her first, or slaps the daughter when the daughter slaps her or any one else.
Do things like this happen else where in this country and do they bother you as much?

my g/f and i have been dating for about 4 and a half yrs, she's 29, im 22 and a half. About 2 weeks ago she informed me that she was preg and will be keeping the baby. she was on the pill the whole time we were dating (allegedly) so i never used a condom or any other type of birth control. i have a few reasons why i think she got preg on purpose the main one being that i ran into a friend of hers yesterday who congratulated me and said she was happy for us b/c "she knew how much my g/f wanted a baby" which was news to me! i just graduated from college and have a good job now and my g/f has been out of college for 7 yrs so financially this isnt a problem, i just am in no way ready to be a dad b/c of the huge change that bringing a child into the world will have on someone's life. just a few month ago she and i were talking about how neither one of us is ready for marriage yet so that isnt an option. on top of this, my mom is gonna kill me! any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanx.

I have 2 kiddos, 1 and 2 and because the temperature is so cold I don't give them a shower every day. Sometimes in the whole week I don't shower them until the weekend because is so cold. But I do wash their hands, face, feet, and parts every day. Is this ok? or regardless of the temp they should get a shower every day?

he moved out when he was just 16. He had been in trouble with the law and quit school, so his stepfather and I told him to either go back to school and start following rules or get out. He chose the later. He moved in with his girlfriend's family for a while, got kicked out, moved in with his Grandma, got kicked out. Now he and his girlfriend are expecting a baby, she's 15, he still refuses to go back to school and is just crashing at friends houses.

What can I do to get him to start taking some responsibility for himself and now his child? I've let them know I will always be there for the baby but I'm not willing to let him move back home. He has been violent in the past with me and his younger brothers, brought drugs into our home etc. He went to a counsellor for both these problems but nothing seemed to help.
I have this horrible guilt but don't know what to do about it. Any advice?

My daughter is going to be starting school next year and I am just wondering, what's better? Private school or Public school? The tradition with this family is that the children go to a religious private school that teaches tolerance, teaches them of their faith, and teaches them of other faiths. The school that we've used has a very good security system and nobody but parents or named individuals is even allowed on the property. The children each have an assigned number, and when school is out they remain indoors until a parent says their number. The teachers also look at the child's face to see if they recognize the person and have a good reaction. If strangers are found on the property, or even if you're a relative and they dont know you, security is on you faster than metal to a magnet. But Public school also exposes the children to all faiths and all ethnicities. So I'm debating with myself on this one becuase I have to enroll her soon. What is your opinion?

if you have a bad feeling about a family member do you trust your intuition even tho your kid loves them? or could it just be your life experience being thrown into your paranoia and sense of protection for your kid?

My nephew is a very intelligent young man. He gets all A's in school and is very well mannered. His mother loves him very much and spoils him to death. She has him so spoiled that she still allows him to sleep in the bed with her. He is 16 and in the 10th grade. He also still drinks out of the same sippy cup that he had when he was 2 years old. I was shocked at this. He came to my house one day and when I offered him a soda, he pulled out the sippy cup and poured it in their to drink out of it.
I tried talking to his mother and letting her know that I don't think that this behavior is normal. She got offended and felt that I was calling her a bad mother. I don't think that she is a bad mother but I don't think that a 16 year old should still be sleeping in his mother's bed or drinking out of a sippy cup. What do you think? Advice please!

I'm wondering why SOME OF YOU (not all, I know!) are so hard on working mom's?
Here are some of the things I've heard:
Working mom's miss thier child's firsts-How do you know that won't miss your child's firsts when you step away to go to the store, etc.?
Working mom's call you un-educated-most of the SAHM's I know are highly educated and intelligent
A stranger raises your kids-a person that my child sees everyday isn't a stranger if I have thourougly checked them out
So that you can further understand my point of view, here is my deal-I work full time and my son stays with my sister and her two children. I spend all my free time with my son. I love my job and worked hard to get where I'm at and I REFUSE to feel guilty about the accomplishments and the choices I've made. That being said, I hope to soon be in a position to stay at home with my son, because although my work is extremely important to me, my son is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing in this world to me. I do resent the guilt trip.
