I have 2 kiddos, 1 and 2 and because the temperature is so cold I don't give them a shower every day. Sometimes in the whole week I don't shower them until the weekend because is so cold. But I do wash their hands, face, feet, and parts every day. Is this ok? or regardless of the temp they should get a shower every day?

Actually irregardless of the temp...kids at that age don't actually NEED a shower every day...they're really not doing anything to get "that dirty" to need a shower every day.

I was 6+ before I needed a shower every day (but then that was only in the summer when I was in the mud from the time my eyes opened till they closed!!! LOL)

It was only when I reached puberty that I needed a shower every day no matter what season.

But additionally if your little guys are prone to dry skin...definitely aviod bathing every day...as wierd as it sounds the water dries out their skin (and no...I don't understand how that works) My 2 year old has excema and that was the advice of our pediatrician.

Hope that helps somewhat :)

If they are not outside playing and getting dirty, I don't see they NEED to be bathed more than that in the winter..not at their age. If they were older and had BO that would be different. The older my kids get the more I make them shower, even in the winter. I DID invest in a space heater for both bathrooms. Before a shower I let it run and during and after. It makes the bathroom really warm and my whole family is a lot happier about getting in and out of the shower.

Yes they should get bathed more than once a week. i understand issue of cold (a couple inches of snow are on the ground here) but they could get sick from not being clean. i reccomend that you put them in the tub/shower at least every other day (in cold months) and put their clothes and towels on a radiator to warm them up before they use/put them on!

shower? 1 and 2 hmmmm, well I would give them a bath atleast every other day, dry them well, do you not shower because it's cold? you will find they will be happier and easier to put to bed if they are clean

Every 2 or 3 days would be okay in the winter (or whenever) as long as they are kept meticously clean otherwise...my doctor says that a baby's skin would dry out if given a bath every day

Kids dont need to bathe everyday unless they get totally filthy. Bathing too often causes dry skin anyway. My oldest did not start showering every day until she was entering puberty...there was no need to.

Even if it's cold, you guys don't live outside, do you? It should be warm enough in the house to bathe your kids daily. I think everyone should shower every day, but that's just my opinion.

I like to wait between showers too. They don't get sweaty at this age, and the only parts that tend to get gross are getting a wipe down. Besides, if you bathe them more often, their skin tends to get really dry. I say waiting is fine, unless they have a real funk to them.

My girls are bathed everyday (5 &3 ). I live were there are harsh winters and I never considered the temp to be a issue. The bath is warm and the house is warm.

I don't give my kids a shower daily. I don't like for them to get chilled. Plus, it dries their skin out more when it is cold. I think what you are doing is fine.
