is a reasonable bed time?

My son and I are going 'round and 'round over this.
Granted I am the parent, but I am tired of him telling me how late his friends are aloud to stay up and talk on thier phones...

My daughter was born Jan 14, 2007 and we have a couple of day care places in mind, but what sort of things should I be paying attention to while i'm observing them before I enroll my daughter. Anything I should be on the watch for? What are some questions I should ask? Thanks

Is it wrong to have a lot of children if you aren't going to be able to buy brand new clothes for them, or name-brand food, or separate bedrooms for them?

(My stepson will be addressed as Joe in this question.)

As of Dec. 2006, my husband was granted primary custody over my 6 year old stepson. Joe lives with us at this current moment and sees his mom every other weekend. When Joe's mom has him, visitation will be the same as when we had him.
Every time Joe comes back from his weekend visitations with his mom, he acts up tremendously! Lying, not listening, getting major atittude, tries bossing my husband and I around etc. The only time he acts like this is when he gets back from his mom's house. (It lasts for 1-3 days.) Then after that time, he is a very well mannered boy, listens, helps out around the house etc. My husband and I have tried everything under the sun to understand why Joe acts like this. And it can be very unbearable and frustrating. We do know he is very spoiled when with his mom. Maybe that's the reason? Can anyone please offer some advice on how to handle this?

I have a friend that lives in Reading,PA and she wants to take her two kids over seas to Hungary where she where she was born because she was told that her Grandmother may not be around for much longer. And she wants to see her and she also wants her kids to see her. But the only problem it the kids are still in school and the nurse at one of her kids school told her that she couldn't take her kids out for no longer than 5 school. The reason why I wanted to know this is because she already has the plane tickets and they wont be comming back to the states for two weeks. What kind of trouble will she be looking at when they do get back and she dose have the kids out for more than 5 school days?

i feel i have a great opportunity to talk to my child about drugs. all drugs. she knows she can asks me anything. and she knows it is medicine for me. Just like prescription drugs it can be a medicine and it can be abused. the difference is if you are taking care of your life.

any other parents smoke medical marijuana in front of their children? i debated this for sometime. to hide it is telling them we're doing something wrong, and they figure it out anyways.

i know some people have very strong feeling against this. so many more children are harmed watching their parents drink. so relax CPS is not beating down my door.

I was watching a morning show talk to a senator/congressman(one of them) about legislation he's introducing to make it illegal for parents to spank children under 3.

Personally, I don't have a problem with spanking, it works. There is a distinct difference between spanking and being physically abusive. I was spanked w/belt as a child, I don't feel like my parents didn't love me and I think people like to impose their hang ups on others. When it comes to private personal matters I don't think anyone has a right to dictate how a family function, not the government, police or neighbor. that's my opinion what's yours?

hi im 17 and my parents are control freaks!!! They want me to get a job and nag me about it countless times, yet at the same time they govern when i can and cannot sleep and take naps even when i am physically fatigued. They tell me that i cannot watch tv after 10 and my mother must watch with me the tv show for her approval. I have a car that my grandmother purchased for me and they will not let me use it to my benefit they feel they are in need of it more, meanwhile i have paid for many of the repairs on the car. They are always looking for ways to ground me from the car so they can use it, I may even get grounded for posting this when they read it. My mother considers me an adult when she wants something done yet i am a child when she wants me to be a robot and do what they instruct me to do. Is this all contradicting to their beliefs? They bestow on me a great deal of emotional distress. What shall i do? (Keep in mind I will ask them to read your responses)

In the pub tonight, several women were chatting and one mentioned her son who occasionally bullies his sister, annoyed both her and the sister by deliberately spilling paint on one of her skirts.

One of the other women suggested threatening to, or even making him wear the skirt for a short while before making him wash it.

I usually get together with my girlfriend and her 3 kids once a week for a play date (I have 1 kid). Since September (and the birth of her 3rd, all under the age of 3 1/2), she has brought her sick kids to my house without telling me they are sick. This week was our turn to go to her house. When we got there, it was clear that all 3 kids were sick (nasty noses, hacking coughs). I have told her in the past that my kid gets sick easily (not really true) and that we can't play when the kids are sick. Well, my kid came down with a cold 2 days after playing at her house.

I don't want to ruin our friendship, but I need to put my son's best interests first. How do I address this with her AGAIN without completely avoiding her every week?

tom loves his 8 yr old son matt dearly.i really want to develop a relationship with matt as i care for him too as i have been in his life since he was 2.the problem is tom's exwife feels i'm in "her spot" with tom(he left her 7yrs ago but not for me and she never got over it)now she has no control over this but has made it very clear i am to have nothing to do with her son matt.meaning i am not allowed to attend ANY school functions, spend time alone with matt, have no contact with teachers, doctors ect.she feels this is for her and tom only and i'm not really her son's family so its none of my business.tom being a great dad will not go against her wishies in fear it will cause problems for his son.my question is why all this drama?why can't she be happy her exhusband married someone who loves her child and wants to be part of his life?

Someone sent this to my daughter and now she wants me to explain to her why it is this way how do I properly?
You call me "Cracker", "Honkey", "Whitey", "Gringo" and you think it's OK.
But when if I call you Kike, porch monkey, sand ni**er, rag head ,Towelhead, WOP, Camel Jockey, ****, slant eyes, yellowskinned, blackie or Chink you call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United ***** College Fund.
You have Martin Luther King Day.
You have Black History Month.
You have Cesar Chavez Day.
You have Yom Hashoah
You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi
You have the NAACP.
You have BET.
You have the NCAA.
If we had WET(white entertainment television) ...we'd be racist.
If we had a White Pride Day... you would call us racist.
If we had white history month... we'd be racist.
If we had an organization for only whites to "advance" our lives... we'd be racist.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships...you know we'd be racist.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights...you would call us racist.
Did you know that some high school students decided to make a club for only the white students because the other ethnicities had them... they all got sent to court for being racist but the african-american, Latino, and Asia clubs were not even questioned.

-You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
I am white.

I am proud.

But, you call me a racist.

Why is it that only whites can be racists?

Now watch, I'll be a racist for posting this
