My daughter is 13 years old and is constantly talking about sexual abuse. She looks for online informations about it and she asks questions. She watches movies about it. She even writes about it. I have asked her several times if someone has abused her or anyone she knows and she denies it every time. She says it's just a subject she's interested in. She often cries and says she 'hates those bastards' who hurt kids. I don't know what to so anymore. I have asked her many times and always the same answer. What should I do?

The other day my neighbor was drinking and said she wished her children were dead !!!! I was totally shocked she has 2 small girls under the age of 6 and someone has already called them on her is this a form of abuse and should I call and tell them what she said ? I'm afraid she might hurt these children being a mother myself I could never say anything like that!

I have two step children -boys one 14, one 11 1/2 they watch cartoons all the time. The cartoon characters baby talk. The context is stuped. I am fine with Simpsons, Family Guy but this other baby type cartoons drives me crazy. I have had other family members comment that they are to old for this type of cartoons they watch. Am I over acting? oh by the way when their mother talks to them she treats them like they are four years old.

I saw another Mom had posted a similar question and it surprisingly did not get much response.I would have thought there would have been a lot since spanking itself is so controversial.

I am primarily interested in the thoughts of those parent who believe in spanking. But of course, anyone is free to speak up and they do.

At one time this was not that unusual of a way to spank at all. I think it is much less so now. I want to know whether you think it works better than an over clothing spanking, makes no difference, is safer, less safe, is too humiliating, is appropriate, totally inapproriate, totally disgusting--whatever.

I will give my thoughts later.

Wear short dresses/skirts to play at the park or the mall play area(if you have one where you live) or to school where they'll be playing at the playground without shorts or leggins underneath? Of she's wearing a skirt do you teach her to sit like a lady? Or are you one of those who see nothing wrong with it? It disgusts me that so many parents really dont care to teach their kids self respect and a little modesty.

This kid really bugs me. Everytime I go to pick my kids (triplets) up from kindergarten, a classmate of theirs is always in my face saying he wants to come over or he wants my son to go to his house. He never accepts no for an answer, either from me or his mother. He has on several occassions called his mother names and hits her. He plays extremely rough, ie: pushing, hitting & wrestling my son to the ground and then punches him. HIs mother, who sees all this as well, never says anything. She also allows him to play "Halo" on his X-Box. To me, that is not a game for a 5 year old. I am really afraid one of my kids is going to get hurt by this little tyrant. There are only 12 kids in this class (3 of which are mine). I love the school and the teacher, but I am starting to wonder if I should switch schools. I really want this kid to find someone else to be "friends" with. My kids don't say much about his behaviour - I think they just like the attention. I really don't know.

As a current or future parent, how would you react if your child or children tried out for American Idol when you specifically asked them not to try out for the show? Also, how would you react if your child or children skipped school in order to try out for American Idol without your permission as well?

I have wanted a MySpace since I was in 5th grade, when it was first popular and everyone had one. My mom told me that i could not have one, and I followed her comand as to not getting one. But now, I am in 7th grade and I feel more mature. I am smart and ahead of my game. If I was the first kid my age that you met, and you met another kid my age you would not be able to tell that they were my age. You would think they were a tall young kid. Anywho, Now I feel that I should be able to get a MySpace. I asked my mom again but she wants to give it more thought. She said that she knows Im not stupid and she trust me. all I want it for is to communicate with my friends and work on my page and add new features and fun stuff. Im not gonna talk to anyone I dont know!
I want to know how do I get my parents to budge
What other good stuff can I tell them! I've tried everything I can think of (without lying)!
and if you dont think I should get a MySpace, then please ell me why?!

I saw this clip on CNN and couldn't believe that these parents were so angry because they were thrown off the flight? It stated that this 3 year old was loud, and disorderly and threw a tantrum and that there was nothing the parents could do to get her to cooperate.

The mother stated she was so embarrased because she was thrown off the flight and that she was angry about it. She SHOULD be embarassed..and to show up on national television news and then find out that overwhelmingly people emailed stating that the airline did the right thing. How much more embarassing can you get?

I would be even more embarrased because I just showed the world that I wasn't able to control my 3 year old. IMO it displayed really bad parenting skills.

Would you want a screaming kid on a flight? I know I wouldn't and I know I wouldn't expect others to tolerate my little tiny terror.

What is your opinion about this situation?

my husband comes from divorced parents. my parents are still married. When we go to see my inlaws, we have to accommidate my mother n law and father n law to see our son (2yrs old). My father n law is suffering from servere back pains, he at times wakes up feeling bad, he can barely get out of bed. He can't seem to do heavy lifting. He has retired, because of his back. My husband does not have a relationship with his dad, because his father left his family for another woman. My concern is that i don't mind my father n law seeing our son, but i don't want him spending the night, we don't know when he wakes up feeling bad. I am just concerned for my son, he is more active. His new wife takes off to help him spend time with his grandson. my question is if he wakes up feeling bad, she is gonna to have to attend to my father n law, I am thinking it may be to much for her to handle. I rather him just go for the day and night for the night. How do i get my husband to understand????
