I have a rule in my house. Disrepect, i.e lying in my face and cussing around me, stealing and fighting are the reasons for spankings in my house. Everything else results in either taking the tv out of their room, or no video game for 2 weeks, or extra study time, or not being able to go to the store, or sitting in the corner. I think each child reacts differently to different punishments. So I think that spankings are okay in some instances. I don't advocate beating children. There is a difference. But how to you feel about it?

My husband might be getting a new job. The pay is good. The only bad thing is that he would be working third shift, probably about 10 pm to 6 am and off on weekends.

I am a SAHM and can't just conform to a new schedule the way my husband would have to.

How do you deal with being on a completely different schedule than your husband?

I was wondering how many moms breastfed the first baby, but not second. I am considering going straight to formula or only breastfeeding the first month, when with my first I breastfed her until she was 8 months. Did this make you feel guilty??

This would be on a regular basis about 3 nights (schedule changes as to which nights) per week from 8pm-7am while the parent works.

I have a step daughter who is fiercely loyal to her mother. No matter what I do with her, she’s always all over her mother like I’m nothing. When my kids come over, I like to spend time with them and my wife thinks that because I’m really happy to see them, I don’t like being around her and her daughter or my kids are more important. That’s not the case. I just only see my kids 2 days a week. She’s like really jealous and doesn’t remember the stuff I do with her daughter (like get to drive her to school everyday that I don’t get with my kids). Now she wants a kid of our own because I feel she’s very jealous of my kids. Plus I have to pay out a lot of money in child support and she feels her daughter gets the shaft (however she chose not to get any from her daughter’s father and she knew going in I was on the hook financially for my two kids). Seems like a typical blended family issue. Anybody else go through this? How’d you get over these issues?

I'm doing an article about the Tennesse girl that has been the center of a custody battle between her biological and foster parents for six years. She'll be turning 8 next week and will also be returned to her biologicla parents. I just wanted people's opinion on who do you think morally, not legally, should have custody of her.
Here's an article about it

Also please specify if you're a parent or not.

A really good friend of mine is having trouble gaining access to his 4month old baby daughter. he pays monthly for her but the baby's mother refuses to give him access to his daughter. Any advice here would be welcome, if the child was born out of wedlock does he have rights to the baby?

This being a spanking done with the HAND on the BOTTOM, leaving NO permanent marks (No bruising, welts, blisters...)

Abuse: meaning that these children should be taken out of the home, and placed in foster care. The spanker thrown in jail, and never have his/her children back. Because, as I see abuse, child abusers should never get a second chance. Are you going to group these parents in that catagory?

I hear the word "abuse" thrown around to much these days. Would you be willing to remove these children permentally from a loving home? Time to play king or queen for a day. If it was up to you. I only ask that you think very hard on it. Remember voting "yes" means a family is torn apart.

Similar question to my last one about using a belt. I want to know how stuck in the old days i am, lol. We never use belts but do pull down pants for a spanking.

Pleas answer the question with a "Yes" or "No" and then state your opinion if you wish.

etc,etc...

A child is created by a man and a woman and should be only placed with a male and female couple. If two men or two women decide to co-habitate or "marry" under the new legislation, they should not expect to be able to have the same rights to a child that generally they would not be able to biologically create. How would children be intimidated at school if they had to share with their schoolfriends that they had two mummies or daddies. This world is becoming a politically incorrect mess.

i can't get him to realize that taking care of a 18mth year old and an infant is a full time job. he says that I just throw the kids on him when he gets off of work. i would like an hour to myself to keep my sanity. he always ask when one of the kids have a dirty diaper, "Do you want me to change him or do you" i am thinking why do you ask, just do it, he is your child just as much as it is mine. I can't even get him to mop the floors or clean the bathrooms. I am getting frustrated with him. He says he works all day, all he does, is sit on his butt on a computer. Can someone tell me how i can handle my husband in order for him to realize, sometimes i am not supermom, i would like some help.

Help I need advice! MY 6 yr old son is in Kindergarden and is having behavior problems bad. Before today I was told about some incidents at school that happened but was not linked to my son recently we found out that he is bulling other kids to lie about things he has done and say they did them. Yesterday the principle found out that my son is peeing all over the bathroom floor and sometimes pooping on the floor. He lies all the time and I cant seem to get the truth out of him. I just dont know what to do about this I am taking all his special privialges away and not allowing his friends to come over after school until we start to resolve this problem but what else can be done. I dont want my son to be the trouble maker and to lie all the time. Im so worriedany advice would be wonderful.

my daughter is 2 and a half, watches a half hour of Barney and most of sesame street, occasionally she also watches Dora - having grown up without tv myself, I know how important it is to a child's ability to socialize - if you don't know what the other kids are talking about, you're labelled as weird and I don't want that to happen to my kids, but at the same time, how much is enough/too much, and what shows are important?
