well, my exes kids weren't spoiled at all.
we disciplined them with a carrot and stick philosophy, the carrot if you're good, and beat with the stick if you're not, so it lead to a pretty no brainer approach to their decision making...
We made them decide on what they wanted to eat together, if one wanted pb and j and the other spagghetio's, then, they went hungry before they agreed, if they fought over a toy, we didn't buy them another, they took a time out till they agreed who's turn it was.
A little corporal punishment helped sometimes too, if they were acting up really bad, 30 laps up and down the stairs tended to take the naughty out of them.

I think there should be compulsory boarding school for 6-12 year olds. With Military style discipline to thrash out those rebellious tendencies...

Yes definately...made that mistake with my eldest and am paying for it.Havnt made it with other two and they are completely different...THANK GOD.
