I told some one i'd babysit. They canceled their daycare, and assistance pay for day care. This morning something came up and now I can't babysit. I feel totally horrible. I hate doing this to people. How can I have her understand without hating me?

On the news, a moment ago, parents and daughter kicked off of plane, because daughter is throwing a fit and screaming. The parents think its the air lines fault. Do you think that these parents are doing more harm than good with this? When are parents going to take responsibility for their children. What do you think this child will be like as a teenager? I think that they better get this child under control right now, before she starts slapping Mom and Dad around. What do you think?

Furthermore, Do you think hitting children should become illegal.
Personally I think a line should be drawn somewhere, I think hitting your kid is the easy was out and only trains them in violence. I have a 11 year old and have never had to hit him, he's not perfect, but I think has a better mind set than kids that are hit.

Her son has been assessed but no-one has diagnosed ADHD. Every night her son will not go to sleep and until she does he is such hard work. Jumping around squeeling, shouting at her nasty things and making her life unbearable. Does anyone know of somewhere she can get help?

"The research is very very clear - a study was just done in sweden of the whole population. Kids raised by single moms - and you don't need a study, just look around - are much more likely to have mental problems, school and job problems, drug problems. etc. It's just wrong for a child to be raised this way on purpose. it's cruel and heartless and only very selfish mothers would do it.

Day care alone is very very bad for a child - how will she not abandon the child each and every day to day care? Children are damaged by observing their parents date - will your sister be able to not date for 18 years?"-cassandra

Wow, I am a single mother...my daughter is a straight A student, polite, well mannered, smart, mature.....
Do only single parents put their kids in daycare?
what is up with this way of thinking?????????????

My little sister is 19 and just found out she is pregnant. She has never had a job, no car, never had any responsabilities. I don't know how she is going to support the baby, my fathers income is very little, and she still lives with my parents. The baby's father isn't going to be around. To look at her situation, she is having a baby for my mother to raise. My parents are older and both have health problems. What I am looking for here, is young single mothers who have sucess stories. I need to not only motivate and encourage her, but encourage and comfort my mother. I know everything will work out, but I don't know how.

I for one do not agree with it .. I have no problem with people being gay but i do have a problem with them being able to adopt a child. I think those children have had it bad enough in their lives if they are being fostered/adopted , should we not do the right thing by putting those kids into a "normal" family , mum , dad , pet dog etc . I worry they will at some point be ridiculed out of no fault of their own . I think its awful personally ..

This being a spanking done on the bottom, leaving no permanent marks (No bruising, welts, blisters...) just the spanker using a belt.

Abuse: meaning that these children should be taken out of the home, and placed in foster care. The spanker thrown in jail.

I do believe in spanking, but NEVER with belts. I have a friend who does. I think that is a bit harsh, but I hate the way people throw the word "abuse" around. When I use that word, the above mentioned better happen. I know they don't leave marks on their children. It's a different style then mine, but I don't consider it abuse. They both love their children very much, and I would consider the children to be "above average" in their development compared to peers.

Pleas answer the question with a "Yes" or "No" and then state your opinion if you wish.

Thank You in advance

This just after watching the story of Elizabeth Smart. She was taken out of her own room. This is a case where of course a camera would have helped. We don't have them in our home at all, but are now going to install them. Besides the family room, and outside cameras, we are kind of up in the air with the girls rooms. Yes or NO?

Also what is a good brand to go with, if you already have them installed?

No right or wrong answers we just want opinions. THANK YOU in advance.

How do you think he did or is doing?

For adults - How is your current relationship with your mom? Your dad?

I only ask because I have a friend who works but her husband stays home with their two little girls. I personally think it's great. Although I am not there, it looks as if he is doing a wonderful job raising them. This is just a question out of curiosity? No right or wrong answer. THANKS!!!

This afternoon a friend e-mailed me a link to Neighborhood watchdog. Its a web site to tell you about sex offenders in your neighborhood. While seaching around I found several people way to close to my house for comfort. What has me very freaked out and concerned for my 4 year old, is that one of the people I found happens to be a friend of mine and my husband. Needless to say he never mentioned haveing been convicted of "lude acts with a child under the age of 14!" What I really want to know is "what do I say to this person?" I dont want him anywere's near my daughter and I dont care what the curcumstanse of the conviction were! I just dont know how to handle this... please help!

Anyone know of any good books or websites devoted to step-parents, specifically stepmoms? I have a 9 year old stepson and am constantly looking for ways to improve our already amazing relationship. Just curious - I have a hard time tracking down books dealing with this subject that aren't negative. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

once an absentee dad is served with child support papers that say he has 20 days to begin paying or to respond for a hearing, what happens if he does NOT ask for a hearing but also does not start paying. Do they start garnishing wages instantly, or do they send him to jail? Or do they do anything at all?

My friend has a 6mo baby that I am around alot(at least 15hrs a week). I know I don't see everything but what I do see makes me wonder about what he will be like in a few years. As an example of what concerns me, I have noticed that both the mother and father allows and encourges the baby to bite on their chins, shoulders, arms, etc., he has no teeth now, but he will have soon and I see this as inviting a problem in the future that will need discipline. I have not been around many babies, but I have raised and trained several dogs from puppies, and know that not allowing a problem to devlope is better than trying to fix one later. For example, None of my dogs have ever licked people, because I never let them do so as puppies. Sure it's cute for an 8wk old pup to lick you but a 70lb dog can make a mess. My friends baby does things now that are cute because it causes no harm, but as he gets older these things will at least cause severe annoyance. Is it wrong to point these things out
