How do you know when you are buying too many things for your child? Is there a limit? Is there a way to tell?

If yes, what did you find there? Did you find anything that you did not expect? Anything they kept secret from you and do not know that you know that you know it? Does your child know you snooped through their room? And, last but not least, do you keep any secrets from your child?

One of the most sacred and beautiful blessings of my life has been becoming a mother. As a mother it is nothing that I would not do to make sure that my child is happy and safe. I went to a resturant for lunch and this mother was telling thier child that they were already fat enough that they did not need to eat anymore food. I could not believe it. The child looked about 9 or 10. She was a lttle chubby but she was absolutely beautiful. She had hardly even eaten half of her salad. I have heard many people do this before. They do not care what they are doing to thier child when they make comments like that. They forget the important things like self confidence and self esteem. If your child is a little chubby, cook a little differently, do fun things with them, you do not have to tell them that they are fat. Fat is not a stigma, although I am not fat, I have seen some gorgeous women on the plump side that could have almost any man they want.

I dont want to be in a relationship where the baby im trying to take care of, who isnt mine , has it in her to be a bad problem child. The baby and little brother have been living with each other for a while and I do see some characteristics of him in her... Should I waite to see how the baby acts around 2 or 3 yrs before making a decision? Also, would it be wrong for me to tell my girlfriend how I feel? How should I tell her ?

Since they already have a VERY good idea we are planning this:

Should we tell our parents of destination wedding upon first meeting; they never met before .... tell them of our plans at first meeting?

My fiance and I have recently decided to have a destination wedding and not invite ANYONE, including our parents.

My parents divorced over 20 years ago and still HATE each other. Both have re-married since then. My fiance's parents are still married and would really like us to have a TRADITIONAL wedding, as would my mother and my grandmother.

While they have an idea of our plans, we are thinking of having them (my mother and stepfather and his parents) meet for the first time for dinner and announce our wedding plan.

We think that they are less likely to get overly upset in the presence of future in-laws, and this will allow them to let the news settle in for a little while.

Is this an ambush to spring it on them like this, or a good idea, so we don't get a guilt trip?

Sorry if this is long. I posted a question about a month ago about my mother in law on x-mas day she kicked me out of her house, pushed me when I tried taking my daughter with me & then threatened to take my daughter away(through courts although she will never get her because she has a sexual misconduct on her record). Anyway last night she called my husband and told him that I need to forget what happened, get over it and start talking to her. I told my husband that I will not forget, how am I suppose to forget someone kicking me out of their house, pushing me and then threatening to take my child away. My husband told his mother that I am not going to talk to her & he isn't going to make me, so than she said well I better start getting to see my granddaughter every sunday or I will show up at your house at 6 everynight. I agreed to let her take her on sunday feb 4th even though it was against my better judgement. Also she threatened to take us to court again. What would you do?

i have a 23month old, 2 next month and i have noticed within the last fortnight he hasnt been himself.

i put his tea on table and i sit down with him to encourage him to eat but he sits there winging, i'd firmly ask him not to cry and to eat up and he goes hysterical. i've tried not saying anything to him but he still cries and dont know why, hes not uncomfortable or anything.

i have done a foodchart as i can see how much hes eating a day and have gave him stars, he knows if he does well at the end of the week, i take him out and get him a toy for being good.

he has become very wingey throughout the day and i dont know why, ive taking him to docs and theres nothing wrong with him,. i play with him, read him books, we make things such as cakes, playdough, etc. he gets attention but hes not spoilt.

can anyone tell me what is wrong with him? is it time to change his routene? i dont know what to do as im starting to get really stressed but dont show it infront of him

I am 28 years old and do not have any children of my own yet. I have tried for a few years with no luck, so I have decided to look into being a foster parent. Once I get my feet wet in that area, I may look into adoption to start my family. I currently live in a one bedroom apartment and I am unmarried. My boyfriend is interested in this too. I ordered an information packet, but there was not much info involved. Anyone out there offer any more info about being a foster parent? Pros and cons?

we live in a development where there are some kids. they play and have fun and we can hear them which is great. our new neighbors have children that scream at the top of their lungs. even the parents yell (probably where the kids got it from) they are very inconsiderate of everyone that lives around them. They don't make noise for hours on end so noise control can't be called. I've politely told her that their voices carry and that I can't keep my windows open because of the noise. What can I do?

kids need to work at least 20 hours a week and save money for when they must leave the home when they turn 16!!! and i'm tired of all these feeble-minded, weak-willed "parents" who are just suckers in their kids' minds.

Forget the my little johnny would never take E.

Or only bad people do.

It makes people hug and be friendly and not be violent and dance and want to be friends, creating great atmospheres and people dance all night getting slim and fit.

Your arguments wont wash with them as they dont see mates collapsing or taking other stuff.

But as popular somones taking it and you kids are the same as everyone else ... so any dinner with lots of salt in it may counter dangerous side effects which tend to affect girls more if the kid takes this when out clubbing as an alternative to alcohol which tends to induce violence, and makes you fat.

Ie may save your kids life without them knowing what you are up to.

Proper discussions also help that are HONEST

Remeber the boy who cried wolf. Lie about dope turning you to hroin by the end of the week and they dont see that happen. They think you are a lier or idiot

Peoples comments can get really annoying after hearing the same thing over and over again. The past few months everyone that sees my daughter says, " how old is she?" followed by, "She is REALLY SMALL for a 14 month old!" Then they give me this mean look like I'm starving my daughter and stunting her growth.
You know, I have been on both ends of this, because when she was younger she was really pudgy and I had to hear comments like, "WOW what are you FEEDING that child?!" Um twinkies and mcdonalds? No, its just BREAST MILK for gods sake lol. Now I'm being criticized for her being too "small." Shes 21 lbs and about 29 inches tall. Last I heard that was considered pretty normal.
Everyone gets criticism it seems, from nosy obnoxious strangers. What are some of the worst comments you've gotten about your children?
