I have a friend I love to death but can't stand her bratty child. I don't dislike her but I blame her for him being like that. I can't say that I dislike him either......I would rather not be around him.

The parents are mostly to blame. The child doesn't know any better but the parents should stop the behavior before it gets out of hand. Some kids are just strong willed and many times the parents just don't want to deal with it, they think it's cute or believe that's what all kids do. When they finally do realize it, it's usually too late and to correct it takes ten times the work and quit.
Unfortunately the cycle continues (if it is not broken) until they meet someone that makes them realize their behavior is not acceptable.

Both, typically. The child's behavior is a reflection of the parenting skills. (I'm talking about a child who is always a brat, not one who is having a bad day and acting bratty.)

I think the parent is more at fault for bratty behavior than the young child is. But the kid is 100 times worse in the home, so the parent deserves every bit of hell they get in public.

I don't "dislike" either, but I do think that one deserves the other.

Good question. I've been in the same situation. It is really not the childs fault I would say it would be the parents. After all, they've raised the child.

A child ,most of the time, is a product of their parents.
I would not dislike their parenst but disagree on their style of parenting.
