I'm so tempted by that idea sometimes that I refuse to keep duct tape in the house!

My 6yo talks constantly. Only she doesn't really TALK. She yells. I swear I'm going to have a volume button installed! She talks every single waking moment of every single day. Oh, and she talks in her SLEEP, too.

I think she believes she'll stop existing if she doesn't keep talking.

I know how you feel:)

When I was in first grade I had this old cranky nun teacher and she used to actually tape kids mouth shut (using masking tape).

But really, even though their talking can drive me nuts at times--that is the very very least of my worries.

My parents used to get us to do stuff. Like get us active like to draw or color all the time, to actually put our mind to something. It worked for a little bit. I'm sure a few times did they put duct tape over our mouths, just kidding. But, no it's not okay to place duct tape over your childrens mouths.

LOL NO. But there is a great book that does have something like 101 uses for duct tape.

Well, duct tape will get the job done, but it leaves behind a sticky residue that is a bear to clean off. I found that a good ol' fashion ball gag works best - no marks, no mess!

Sure...duct tape their mouths and while u/r at it, how about their hands and feet!

OF COURSE NOT! Let them talk and please listen because before you know it, they will be grown and gone and as the years roll by you will have all the quiet you want (or not want)

Now go give those kids a big hug...and tell 'em you love them! :)
