Why or why not? What factors (will) play(ed) into your decision to or not to? Are you happy with your decision? Why or why not?

For those of you whose sons are old enough, have you talked to him about your decison to circumcise or not? What did he say? If he is still a baby, what do you plan on telling him?

and you are an only child. For example, if my parents disagree on what restaurant they want to go to, they basically make me pick a side.

I always found this annoying and think my parents are immature for it.

What do you guys think?

each other, or if they split apart and the kid is raised by one parent. Because I know that my mom definately stayed with my dad only to raise me (I think she was at fault here, not my dad) and I think this was very selfish of her. What do you guys think?

I want to go back to work, but I'm having second thoughts....I was raised in a home where mom stayed with the kids and dad went to work...........I don't want to miss any of my kids especial ocassions like their first day of school, first field trip, first play, etc, etc....So I would feel really guilty if I missed any of that.......Any advise??

I am a mother of two and I have been adamant about my kids knowing who they are and accepting themselves prior to making any changes to their physical appearance (hair color, piercing, etc). My 16 year old son has pierced his lip (without my knowledge) and I won't allow him to wear a ring in it. He thinks it's not fair and not a big deal. What are your thoughts?

I have 2 children ages 5 and 7.
They sleep on a bunkbed in the same room. I can not seperate them, I don't have an extra room.

They have a set bedtime and I am concerned and I try to be very strict that they get to sleep on time, especially on a school night or else they wake up tired and groggy.

My problem with them is that they talk and chatter with each other.
I have tried threatening them (I really don't like it) I take away their stuffed animals that they like to sleep with and the only thing that seems to work is if I stay in the room with them and tell them if they talk, they are grounded.

I can't and shouldn't have to continue this.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Would anyone here, current parents or not, punish their children by making them read a book?

i went to a parent/teacher conference with my new husband for the 1st time and this really pissed his exwife off.she had to go by herself.she feels she should go with my husband not me and i have no right going since i'm not her sons mom.she made such a stink the school asked my husband to keep me away to avoid any more problems.since this happened she has done other things to let me know she will always be queen bee since she has a son with my husband and i don't.my husband and her both have joint custody and he does not agree with this but will not go against her in fear it will hurt his son.was she right to act this way?should i just back off with kids stuff till she finds a new husband to keep her busy?

My son is 14 months old almost 15. He is sick with a cold, I turned the vaporizer on and was wondering if it would be okay to give him a pillow as a prop. He does okay with them during naps and such. I thought it may help the coughing.

mark has been divorced for over 5yrs but by the way his ex acts u would never know it.she is always trying to get info(always in a sneaky way) about us from my inlaws.for example we told marks 9yr old son we are "thinking" about having a baby.well he must have told his mom as she "ran" over to my inlaws to ask "if they knew about our new baby" but never asked us about it and she sees us all the time.if she is not trying to get info about us then she is bad mouthing us to anyone that will listen.the only "bad" thing mark ever did was divorce her and it was not for me.she just treated him like crap till he could not take it any more and left but left her everything house,car.money.the only reason we put up with it is because of thier son they share we don't want to put him in the middle.is this normal that she is so consumed/bitter with our life still after 5yrs?it started to ware on my nurves how can i deal with this?

single moms who are welfare?
I mean there is alot of hate towards them, how can you judge someone you dont know anything about. I msure there are some who are using it and dont need it, but some are moms who have been in normal relationships with abusive husbands or bfs and had no other choice at the time.
Not everyone on welfare STAYS on welfare...I am not on it, but it is a consideration since Im a stay home mom in an abusive relationship.
I cant go back to school because I owe a student loan that was to be paid by my guy 3 years ago and he never paid it cause he didnt want me to go to school and have my own money cause he was scared I would leave him and I cant get a job right now cause he wont help out with watching the kid. I have to wait until my kid is old enough to be in school.
