I think you mean the formal spelling, they're all real ways to spell it. We had a V.P. with that name, Schuyler Colfax under Grant. I always thought Skyler was the male spelling unless you want your kid to be gay.

i would have to say skyler=boy and skylar=girl !ar is more girly i think

For a boy. i think of it sounds masculine, easily. And it is masculine. that's a spelling of Schuyler-- that's a masculine call, because of the fact that's comparable to Skylar / Skyler. i do no longer techniques the two spelling, as long as that's on a boy.

I dont think it matters.
Personally, I like the spelling of Skyler better...the AR makes me want to make a weird open-mouth gesture thing (like a yawn)when I say it.

Both spellings could work for both genders. I've seen it both ways.

My daughter's name is Skylar! =)

Both are unisex spelled either way like you have them but the real spelling for a boy is Schuyler
