No phone after 10:00. It is just rude to all others in the household! Bedtime is tougher. The factors to consider are homework, outside obligations (sports, school activities). He is just trying to con you with the friends thing. Use your own judgment. He is your son and you know best what works for him...not Joe Schmo down the street. Good Luck.

It relies upon on the duty aspect of the 15 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous freshman and what she'll be doing and who she will be doing it with. i might want to say that 10:30-11:00 is a first rate and honest curfew for most activities. As she begins as a lot as now, the curfew should be prolonged to twelve:00. by technique of the time she's a senior her curfew should be a million:00am. Extending the time to the teen shows how she's earned the have self belief of her mothers and fathers and that she is responsible for her moves. protecting her grades up and operating with a strong crew of acquaintances that isn't get her in difficulty are also major!

WOW a guy who actually likes talking on the phone, lol.
Anyways, I think you should let him talk away on the phone until his bedtime, which should be 10 hours before he starts school in the morning. So if he starts school at 8am then make him go to sleep at 10pm. Let him talk on the phone or whatever til 12am on fridays and saturdays. Since sunday is the day before the schoolday then 10pm or possibly 11pm should be the cut off time.

well it depends on how you look at it.
most high schoolers adverage 3-5 hours of sleep on weeknight, and 'sleep binge' on weekends. their grades vary. I know Honors and AP(early colege classes) students whom only sleep 3 hours a night and get As and Bs
health wise- 6-8 hours is ideal. so it depends what time he gets up, and how long it takes him to fall asleep (he can go in his room at 10, lie awake in bed until 2- it has to be 6-8hours of sleep/unconsiousness)
I'd at least want him to start calming down in his room an hour or two before bed. just watching some tv and if he takes phone calls during that time that should be okay.
I'd then allot about 30 mins to fall asleep for the adverage person- so you want him in bed by 6 1/2 - 8 1/2 before his alarm goes off.
depending on how you parent I wouldn't get too strict unless his health, grades, or disposition is declining

First of all high school is hard and he need his rest for work, tests, and finals. If he is going to stay up talking then when will he do his homework, but it really depends on the kid. I think you should make a schedule with a certain amount of talking time, homework time, and so forth. If he thinks that idea is babyish just tell him how babyish it is to stay up all night talking. When he is an adult he'll thank you for making him rest. Also, he is a growing boy and growing boys need to save time to do otrher things than just talk on the phone, like... sleeping.

9:30 would be the latest. After he gets off the phone, he should be doing his night stuff like getting clothes ready for school the next day, brushing his teeth, making sure school work is complete and backpack ready to go, etc. When he tells you his friends get to stay up later and blah, blah, blah, just tell him they must not have parents that love them as much as you love him. And his bedtime should be 10:00

9:30 should be the limit on school nights. Bedtime would depend on what time he has to get up in the morning but 10 PM is the average time.
