My husband and I have a Yahoo 360 website. It has our first and last names, but does not say where we live, not even the state we live in. It doesn't have any personal info like what we do for a living, and just includes our family pictures and info about where we went for holidays, nothing personal.

We are having a baby and I planned to put the baby's name on the website along with the baby pictures for our family.

Do you think this is safe? Do you have a website like this?

I agree - remove the last name. And if you can password protect it so the only people that get in to see it are people you know - that is even better!!!

We have a website through .mac and although it's not a free service ( I think its about $75/year and it does more than just host a web page) but with this program my family website is password protected and not out in the public.

I don't know much about yahoo 360 but if it is a public site I would remove your last name just to be safe. I would also recommend, if possible to password protect it. Just to be on the safe side, there are so many strange people with nothing better to do than find things on the internet.

Just my thoughts...congrats on the new addition to your family!

I personally do not think it is safe because now a days with just pictures, you can put a risk to your family. You never know who will find your site, even if it is password or membership protected. You never know.

You could try alternate ways of sharing the pictures. Try a photobucket ( a site that stores pictures and helps organize them and lets you make slide shows) and tell them the password and username. Or you could just email them the pictures.

We LOVE having a website for our family. We go through www.easysite.com We pay $50/year for up to 1,000 pictures, 25 video clips, blog, news, audio, coming events, message boards, guest book, and more. Our family can order any of the pictures off our site for just 7 cents each. We set up user names and passwords for the people allowed to see our site, or you can have it be a public site. It is the absolute BEST way to have everyone see the latest pictures and new news for our baby and it really is SUPER easy to use. I recommend it to EVERYONE!!!

I have a yahoo 360 page and a my space page. I honestly use my myspace page tons more than my yahoo page but to answer your question-I think it's safe. You have risk when you put anything online but overall-its safe and a great way to keep everyone involved in your ever growing family!

Make a Myspace account, set it to private, meaning no one can see your page unless they are on your friends list. Then you know who can see what you post, and go by that on what you'd feel comfortable putting out there.
I do also vote for removing your last name from your page though..

I would not include your last name, there are so many hacks that can find out where you do live, we live in the age of knowledge, it can be very scary! I dont post any pics of my kids anywhere, just never know who will right click it, kwim?

I would take off your last name because people can track where you live bye that but you can put the baby's name down (not last name) and baby pics and congrats on the baby.

I'd take off your last name, unless it's Smith or Jones or something like that, but otherwise, sure it's safe.
